Maharashtra ABSTRACT Objectives To improve the beauty of the human, herbal cosmetic preparation are used. The objective of present research was to formulate and evaluate multipurpose herbal cream for the purpose of soothing, nourishing, Moisturizing, And Emollient and to treat various skin diseases. Material and method The herbal extracts are prepared by using hydroaclcholic extract method (Papaya, Green tea, Chandan) and by aqueous extract method (Aloe, Tulsi, Neem and Turmeric) of crud drug. Different crude drug like Aloe (Aloe barbadensis), Papaya, (Carica Papaya), Turmeric (Curcumalonga), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Neem (Azadirachtaindica), Chandan (Santalum album), Green tea (Camellia Sinesis), Rose oil (Olium rosae), Almond oil (Prunus dulcis), Lemon oil (cymbopogon flexuosus ) were taken. RESULT & DISCUSION- For the formulation of cream the Evaluations all these Formulations were dones on different parameter like P H of cream, viscosity, Homogenicity, Appearance, Acid value, Saponification value. Washability, Irritancy, Consistency & Antimicrobial growth test. The Formulation showed good result of all above parameters. CONCULSION Antimicrobial testing of formulation has been concluded that both the formulation gives antimicrobial activity toward Gram positive (Bacilus) as well as Gram negative (E.coli) bacteria. Thus these studies suggest that all the herbal cosmetic preparation is safe to us was provided & it can be used as a provision of protective barrier to skin & also it may produce Synergistic action. KEY WORD Anti-acne, Antimicrobial, Camellia Sinesis, Cosmaceutical, Multipurpose herbal cream. Corresponding Author: *N R Patel Faculty of Pharmacy, Adarsh College of Pharmacy Vita. Maharashtra INTRODUCTION The word Cosmetic derived from a Greek word kosmesticos that means to adorn. From that time any materials used to beautification or promoting appearance is known as cosmetic various types of natural material were used for these purpose. [1] Herbal excipients are of plant origin extracted & isolated from plant parts. Being natural herbal excipients are non toxic, affordable, biodegradable with some exception, biocompatible, ecofriendly & can be changed chemically thus attract the consumers. The plant sources are renewal & can be cultivated or harvested in sustainable manner, can produce constant availability of raw material, waste from food industry can be achieved as a raw material to extract herbal excipients. These are other reasons for improve in demand of herbal material as a excipients. The basic idea for skin care cosmetic lies deep in the Rigveda, Yajurveda, Ayurveda, Unani & Homeopathy system of medicine. [2] These are the product in which herbs are used in crud or in extract form. These herbs should have different properties like Advanced Journal of Pharmacie and Life science Research 27

2 antioxidant, anti-inflammatory antiseptic emollient, Antiseborrhatic antikerolytic and Antibacterial etc. cosmetic are prepared or formulate to reduce wrinkles. Fight acne & to control oil secretion for various types of skin protective, sunscreen, Antiance, Antiwrinkle & antiaging & designed using different types of materials either natural or synthetic. Multipurpose herbal cream is a poly herbal preparation that contains of extracts of Aloe barbadensis, Ocimum sanctum, Azadirachtaindica, curcuma longa, Olium rosae, Carica papaya, Santalum album, camellia Sinesis, prunus dulcis, cymbopogon Flexuosus. These herbs have been selected depend on value of herbal in traditional system. [3] PREPARATON AND EXTRACT- Two method are used for Preparation of extract 1. Aqueous extracts For (Aloe, Turmeric, Neem &Tulsi) All ingredient are weighed accurately & aqueous extract had been done i.e. 5gm in 50 ml water on water bath at c. This solution concentrated up to 20ml. Filtrations is done same procedure is followed on all powder. [4,5] 2. Alcoholic extracts for (papaya, Chandan & green Tea) All ingredient weight accurately & prepare alcoholic extract has be done. i.e. 5gm in 20ml alcohol & 30ml water heat on water bath at c. This solution concentrate up to 20ml Filtration is done, same procedure is followed on all powder.(fig1) FORMULATON PREPARATION- The oil in water (o/w) emulsion based cream was formulated. The emulsifier stearic acid & cetyl alcohol (part A) dissolved & heated at 75 0 c. The preservatives & other water soluble component (methyl paraben, propyl paraben, Trienthanolamine, propylene glycol) & all extract dissolved in aqueous phase (part B). After heating aqueous phase was added into oil phase at same temperature with continuous stirring the smooth & homogenous cream was prepared. After cooling then add perfume. After feel: - Emliency slipperiness & amount of residue lest after the application of fixed amount of cream was checked. 4. Wash ability: a small amount of cream applied on hand & washed under running tap water. 5. Consistency: This parameter was checked manually. 6. ph of cream: - P H was calibrated using standard butter solution. About 0.5 gm of cream was dissolved in 50ml of Distilled water to measured P H. 7. Viscosity: - Viscosity of formulated cream was determined by book field viscometer at 100 rpm using spindle No Irritancy: - Mark an area (159.cm) on left hand dorsal surface. The formulated cream was applied particular area & time was noted. Irritancy, Erythrema, Edema check on 24hr. 9. Acid value: gm of cream adds in10ml of alcohol & 10ml & ether warm water bath until it dissolve. Titrate against 0.1N sodium hydroxide. Using phenolphthalein as indicator let titare reading v X 0.1x2x v3 V3 = titre reading 10. Saponification Value: - 0.5gm of cream transfer into round bottom flask add 15ml of alcoholic pot hydroxide & reflux on boiling water bath for about an hr (v1). 15ml of alcoholic pot hydroxide reflux on boiling water bath for about an hr (v2). Cool the both solution in to room temp & titrate separately against 0.5N hydrochloric acid using phenolphthalein as the indicator. Let us the titre reading for sample as v1 & black is v2. 2(V 2 -V 1 ) V 2 = Blank reading V 1 =Sample reading 11. Microbial growth test: - The Formulated cream was prepared were inoculated on the agar media streak plate & agar plate method & a control was prepared by omitting the cream. The plate was place in incubator are incubate 37 0 c for 24hr. [3] 12. Stability testing:- Stability testing of prepared formulation was conducted for most stable formulation room temp studied for 7day s. The formulation were kept both at room temp & Evaluated temperature observed on 0th, 10th,15th & 20th day for following parameter. RESULT AND DISCUSIION 1.
