3 Oceanside s Local Government Ahead of the Curve With the recent passage of several various pieces of legislation, the State of California has begun to license farms in Oceanside. The city of Oceanside has been at the forefront of other cities throughout North County in terms of the local government s willingness and proactivity in drafting regulations and/or guidelines. The majority of North County has not passed for either medicinal or recreational. Currently only four cities in San Diego county have lifted the ban on licensed dispensaries for medical marijuana: San Diego, Chula Vista, La Mesa and Lemon Grove. March 28, 2018 City Council took to vote on the expansion and regulation of medical marijuana in Oceanside.

4 Oceanside-- The Future Epicenter of Cannabis Production March 28, City Council voted on licensing for medical marijuana businesses, as well as an ordinance allowing for testing and cultivation. The proposal was to allow for 8 licenses for medical marijuana dispensaries, to allow up to 20% lot covreage for cultivation, and allow for testing. The appoved version of the ordiance will come back for second reading in 2 weeks, and go in effect in May.
