2 Thank you for signing up for the 2017 COLOR ME BELMAR Walk Run Dash for PossABILITIES Your participation means so much to our organization AND the children, adults and families that we serve! YOU are taking action to help show our community the ABILITIES in disabilities! INTERESTED IN HELPING US MORE? Great! Gather all of your friends and set up a team on our designated fundraising tool CROWDRISE Step 1: Go to Step 2: Click on SET UP A FUNDRAISER Step 3: JOIN A TEAM or START YOUR OWN Step 4: Pick a title (aka AMAZING TEAM NAME), fundraising goal, and tell people why this means so much to you!

3 FUNDRAISING TIPS Make a list of all the people you know they will want to help you because this matters to you! Call family members (even those that live out of town!) Text your friends Post to your Facebook page Talk to your teachers Share with the businesses that you frequent 5 IMPORTANT Steps in Fund-Raising: 1. Ask Make it clear what your personal fundraising goal is. Suggest different giving levels (e.g. $25 dollars to make a difference for children in need) 2. Make it Personal Send a personalized note instead of a group message. Make sure the person knows why you are asking THEM! 3. Put Your Into It You have picked this cause out of so many other ones out there tell them why it is so important to you? Why do you choose to bring awareness to disabilities? Include your personal story and help us make our community even better! 4. Make It Easy Give clear instructions on how you are accepting donations. Direct them to your Crowdrise page or offer to pick up donations. 5. Give THANKS The most powerful thing you can do is say THANK YOU. You are a special ambassador for FRA, and we THANK YOU for helping us show the gratitude & love! Maybe even share photos of the event with all of your personal supporters. TOGETHER WE MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

4 SAMPLE FUNDRAISING LETTER Dear Friends and Family, This Saturday, May 20th, I will be participating in the COLOR ME BELMAR Walk-Run-Dash for PossAbilities. Our goal is to help FAMILY RESOURCE ASSOCIATES (FRA) raise awareness about cognitive and development disabilities, while also highlighting the amazing Abilities of children, adults and families served by FRA. On a weekly basis, over 170 adults and 325 children are supported by FRA. They are learning some of the most basic skills that we often take for granted like being able to hold a toy or make our own lunch, while they are truly imagining new possabilities by learning karate, dance, yoga, computer technology AND MORE! I can t wait to walk along the Belmar boardwalk and run along the beach through exploding color to show these amazing individuals how much I support their hard work and determination! It is so inspiring for me! And with more than 92% of our donations going to direct services at FRA, I know we will make a true IMPACT! 6 FUNDRAISING IDEAS Just asking for donations is only one way of raising support. Check out these FUN ideas to help bring awareness to your efforts and USE YOUR OWN IMAGINATION! Share your idea with us at Coordinate a Dress Down Day - Work with your school or work place to have a dress down day (e.g. everyone can wear jeans for a small donation!) Corporate Matching Gifts Does your company provide matching gifts? Work with FRA to fill out the paperwork to DOUBLE your organization. Potluck or Bake Sale Do love to cook or bake? Make some special treats and ask your friends, family and colleagues to help you raise funds for FRA with a small donation. Chores Help neighbors or friends and family with small tasks!
