2 What is The Friendlies Foundation? The Friendlies Foundation is the charitable fundraising arm of the Friendly Society Private Hospital. As a not-for-profit facility it is important that we work closely with members of our community, business leaders and others to raise funds to help purchase state-of-the-art equipment, build world-class facilities, expand services and attract new specialties. When you donate to The Friendlies Foundation your generosity is used to directly benefit our patients. Ongoing philanthropic support will enable the Friendlies to stay at the forefront of medical advances to deliver the highest quality medical services and compassionate care in modern facilities. What you will be supporting By donating to The Friendlies Foundation, you will be directly supporting the Friendly Society Private Hospital, a world-class 143+ bed surgical and medical facility. At the heart of the hospital is a team of more than 400+ medical, nursing, support and allied health professionals who are committed to the health, safety and well-being of all members of the Wide Bay. For 70 years, the Friendly Society Private Hospital s not-forprofit approach has allowed it to invest in the very best medical equipment and staff, while staying true to our patient promise of providing the friendliest, highest-quality healthcare in Australia. 3 What your donation could do Your donation will help The Friendlies Foundation achieve its vision of providing people of the Wide Bay region with the best quality health care in Australia. You will be directly supporting specialist and community health services, so the Friendlies can continue to meet the needs of people in the Wide Bay while keeping friends and family together. Future plans include expanding day oncology services, a cancer care centre and expanding cardiology services with additional cath labs. Ongoing medical research continues to provide patients access to the latest cutting-edge treatments. At The Friendlies we encourage our doctors to pursue research opportunities.
