2 S 6 th ANNUAL MEMBER RECOGNITION AWARDS 2010 Call for Nominations proudly presents its Sixth Annual Member Recognition Awards honoring the outstanding work of staff, volunteers, and board members at rape crisis centers and prevention programs. The awards program recognizes exceptional individuals whose efforts ensure the success of rape crisis centers and programs across California. Awards will be presented in four categories: Outstanding Prevention Staff or Volunteer Outstanding Intervention Staff or Volunteer Outstanding Executive Director/Sexual Assault Program Director Outstanding Board Member. This packet contains the forms and materials necessary to submit nominations. Nominate coworkers, volunteers, and leaders who are assets to your agency s team. Only staff and board members of -member agencies may submit nominations. Please note, this process is open ONLY to -member agencies, including RCCs, Rape Prevention Programs, and Dual SA/DV agencies. Council and Board members are ineligible to receive an award. Self-nominations will not be accepted. To enter nominees, please complete the attached forms. All forms and supporting documents may be , faxed or mailed. Award recipients will be recognized at s Annual Meeting on Tuesday August 31, 2010, part of s Annual Leadership Conference to be held at The Renaissance Hotel and Spa in Los Angeles, California from 2:00 PM 5:00 PM. Winners will receive: a) free travel to the Annual Meeting, b)free lodging at approved government state rate, c) complimentary Statewide Pre-Conference and National Sexual Assault Conference Registration (for award winner only), and d) a personalized award. Winners are responsible for their lodging arrangements. NOMINATION REVIEW: staff and the Council have created a cross-functional team to coordinate and administer the member recognition process. This Sub-Committee will review all nominations and determine winners in each category.
3 2010 OUTSTANDING BOARD MEMBER AWARD OUTSTANDING BOARD MEMBER AWARD CRITERIA seeks to honor an individual board member who is fully committed to the success of their agency. A model board member is a visionary whose strategies and decision-making ensure the success of the organization. They proudly represent the organization to colleagues and to the community at large. The nominee leads by example, with endless dedication to sustaining and supporting the work of the agency and the movement. This award is limited to agency board members only. 1. Describe how you have worked with the board member. Please include concrete details about any previous or on-going activities or projects. include specific information. 4 2010 OUTSTANDING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OR SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM DIRECTOR AWARD OUTSTANDING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OR SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM DIRECTOR AWARD CRITERIA seeks to honor an executive director or sexual assault program director who exemplifies the ideals of leadership. The success of any organization depends upon the commitment of its leaders. The nominee actively fosters the progress of the organization and programs while recognizing and respecting the roles of staff and volunteers. Their guidance and efforts focus on all levels of service, from the needs of individual clients to the progress of the movement as a whole. This award is limited to agency executive directors or sexual assault program directors only. 1. Describe how you have worked with the executive director. Please include concrete details about any previous or on-going activities or projects. include specific information. This award recognizes a compassionate, supportive individual whose top priority is their clients. The nominee forges a close connection with their clients and consistently displays the willingness to go beyond the call of duty to have an impact. The nominee provides these services while maintaining their professionalism and personal wellness. This award is limited to current staff or volunteers whose primary role is intervention, including counseling and/or crisis intervention. 1. Describe how you know or have worked with the nominee. Please include concrete details about any previous or on-going intervention activities. include specific information. If the nominee is a volunteer, please list years of service and weekly hours of service. Through their innovation and adaptability, they tailor their presentations to fully engage and impact groups of all ages, races, sexual identities/orientations, and backgrounds. The ideal nominee strongly connects with their listeners and takes pride in their work. They also consistently maintain a high level of professionalism and personal wellness.
