1 Members Bulletin Welcome to 2016! Hello, everyone! I hope you like the new look Members Bulletin for 2016, which will aim to keep you updated with both Society and Committee news. AGM Our Annual General Meeting held at the HQ on Tuesday 8th December 2015 was fairly well attended and many issues were raised and discussed. The re c e n t m e m b e r s s u r v e y circulated by the Executive Committee has certainly generated a lot of interest in how the society operates and, as such, the EC held a separate 3 & half hour meeting on 19th January to discuss the results. Feedback and proposals will be circulated by Corinne, our Secretary, in due course. The matter is receiving our utmost attention and we please ask you to be patient in this matter. Thank you. Website Revamped Chelmsford Cathedral On Monday 11th January we had the opportunity to perform for 350 members of the New City Girls WI in Chelmsford Cathedral. This was a great publicity coup for CAODS and thank you to everyone involved, both on stage and off, for making it a huge success. A fantastic time was had by all and, whilst it was a lot of hard work, the standing ovation at the end made it all worth while! PUBLICITY This has been confirmed as Saturday 20th February in High Chelmer from 11am - 3pm. Helpers are needed to man the stand and hand out leaflets, please. All cast members are expected to attend for all or some of the time. Thank you. Our newly launched website will be administered by Jessica Broad, your Webmistress! Sound & Lighting - CAODS will continue to use Event Sound & Lighting for its shows, as other quotes received were not within the society s budget - 5,400 & 10,410! Social calendar - the oﬃcial one - is attached on page 4 please note - 30th April is optional 70 s fancy dress. Rehearsal attendance - there has been a definite improvement for this show - thank you! 5 VALUES The society is changing all the time. Members come and go, they seem to be getting younger, old shows are repeated, new shows are premiered, some of us like them, some of us don t, the social events don t always appeal to everyone s taste Whatever the issue, we are still all part of CAODS, here for the same reason - to put on the best show we can for our paying audiences. How we achieve this, is just as important as the show itself. Would you like to have your say? The committee would like to invite a cross section of members to form a working group to draw up a list of values for the Society. It will be used not only as a point of reference as to how members, both acting and non-acting, are expected to conduct themselves, but also shared with potential new members, as our code of practice. The group will be invited to make a presentation to the committee for discussion and feedback. If you would like to take this opportunity to make a contribution to the society, then do something about it!
