2 About Us Youthscape is a Christian youth work organisation. Our vision is to help the church discover the models and approaches of youth ministry that really work and make a difference to young people s lives in a rapidly changing culture. Our team are based in Luton, Bedfordshire where we pioneer work with young people in schools, churches and the local community. The hub of our local work is our brand new, state-of-the-art facility Bute Millsa five storey youth centre and training facility, a place where new youth work ideas are constantly being born and put to the test.
3 Inspiring Healthy Relationships Course: Romance Academy Training Days 6hrs Equipping young people with a positive framework for understanding and experiencing healthy relationships. Resourcing & equipping you to run a Romance Academy course Romance Academy is our in-depth course for year olds, focused on inspiring healthy relationships. These groups become a powerful community in which young people grow in selfesteem, confidence and relational literacy. They learn and practice the tools to make positive and informed choices that benefit themselves and others. Attendance at one of our regional training one day events is essential before you can run the course. After attending, you ll be given access to all you need to run your own Romance Academy. A range of dates are available nationally, for more details please visit our online events store. 4 Course: Course: Let s Talk About Sex Roadshows Let s talk about sex is an interactive seminar designed to help adults talk with their teenagers about sex and relationships. These events are designed to help you have those conversations that matter the most. The evening includes: Know the facts we ll take a look at what s really going on in youth culture, including analysis of the world of social media and the impact of porn. Define your message as the loving authority in your children s lives, we ll help you to lead the charge in establishing a framework of healthy relationships. 2.5hrs 300/395* plus travel Event aimed at parents Event aimed at those supporting young people/ working in a Christian capacity Delivered at your venue COMING SOON Inspiring Healthy Relationships Equipping Days This year we are going to be holding a series of one day events in Luton for youth workers, handling hot topics and hearing from lead voices in each field. The equipping days allow space to explore the issues, ask questions and openly discuss the issues. 1. Listening and Responding to Young People on Homosexuality Date TBC 6hrs 50 Event aimed at those supporting young people/ working in a Christian capacity Handling the how we ll share our tried and tested top-tips for starting the conversations and responding to those challenging parenting moments. 2. Questioning Gender 26th January 10 4pm This seminar is predominately aimed at parents, youth workers, teachers & church leaders who would like some practical guidance and wisdom to help them avoid the pitfalls of being cringy, judgemental or just plain clueless! 3. 5 Self-harm and Mental Health Training Course: Self-harm And Theology In Practice 2hrs Recognising and effectively supporting young people with mental health issues. An evening course for churches, ideal for equipping those who want to confidently offer support for young people both practically and spiritually. An overview of the latest research on the extent of self-harm among young people and the particular groups at highest risk Introduction to key support methods and alternatives Self-harm and the Bible Responding and supporting from a Christian perspective Listening and lamenting The impact of scars An introduction to the resources that are available. 6 Course: Self-harm Equipping Course For Parents 1.5hrs The training includes the following: Raising awareness of the issue- key facts and 200 plus travel information for parents about what self-harm is and why young people self-harm Recognising and understanding the physical and emotional indicators of self-harm Event aimed at parents Delivered at your venue A practical guide to responding to a self-harm disclosure followed by information on what help is available for families Ways to encourage emotional resilience and healthy coping mechanisms at home How to parent a child that harms and look after your other children Hints for improving communication Impact on you An open question time and a look at what resources and support are available for parents around this issue
7 Course: Course: Anxiety In Adolescence 2.5hrs Young People And Self-esteem 2.5hrs In a culture with higher pressures to succeed, 24/7 online presence, global instability and a constant bad news cycle, young people are 300 plus travel Young People And Self-esteem is a brand new course from Youthscape covering the six pillars of self-esteem and highlights how 300 increasingly struggling to know how to cope. Anxiety In Adolescence is a 2.5-hour course that not only highlights the pressures that young people are facing today, but also key methods of support, including group-wide and individual approaches, free downloadable resources Event suitable for anyone working with young people, schools, youth orgs, churches.
