The Board would also like to extend a great big THANKS to Hope Ekert and our Board President, Ted Ramirez for the makeover they generated on our website. As I am sure many of you are aware, this type of website makeover took countless hours so please give both Ted and Hope your gratitude when you see them or please feel free to send a message on our revamped website (i.e. see article in this month s newsletter for all the exciting updates). Due to Hope s enormous contribution, leadership and expertise with our website, she was voted by the board as the Director of our Social Media Committee. We are truly lucky to have Hope continue to be the lead with regard to our website! NEWSLETTER Please keep in mind that all future newsletters will be placed on Elena (Board Secretary) will also send the NMMA Monthly via for this issue and the next few issues in order to allow for a smooth transition. EXCITING NEWS ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION WEBSITE! Dear NMMA MEMBERS AND FRIENDS: I am pleased to announce that the Officers and the Board of Directors have approved and overwhelmingly support improvements and changes of our website: The site is now live. Please check it out for a wealth of information including upcoming events, mediator resources, and more. I plan on sending out an occasional Message from the President, as well as blog posts regarding special events or articles from our members. We strongly encourage you to join the blog as it will include member only password-protected areas and posts. Elena Hernandez, Association secretary, will supply the password to all current NMMA members. This password will change every year. If you d like to receive notifications of these posts, click on the follow this blog link on the right side of the front page of the website. You will be asked to confirm your address and then click follow that s all you have to do to be kept current. We will keep you informed of all that is happening with mediation in New Mexico when it is posted on the website. We plan to make additional features available including a Find a Mediator tab where current dues paying members will be able to post information on their services for potential clients to find you. Mediate pro-bono? Not to worry, we plan to include your profiles as well. Stay tuned as we work the details out on this feature! Any information source can become stale if not kept current. We welcome your news and views of the Mediation practices in New Mexico and around the US. The Officers and Board reserve the right to determine appropriate content for inclusion on the website. Sanchez Judicial Education Center (JEC) Scholarship to complete a 40-hour Basic Mediation Course at the UNM School of Law (SOL) in Albuquerque. The JEC Scholarships are administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), in conjunction with the Statewide ADR Commission. Full tuition scholarships will be awarded for up to two (2) recipients to attend the October/November basic mediation course. Tuition includes course registration, materials, and a parking permit! A flat rate reimbursement is also available for scholarship recipients traveling more than 60 miles oneway to attend the course.
