2 About the Conference Dr. David Loveland will discuss real world strategies for engagement of consumers and the fellowship will provide an update on the public psychiatry fellowship in rural areas. This year s conference will focus on: Value-based payments in behavioral health. Medication-assisted treatment in substance use disorders. Appropriate use of psychotropic medications in children and youth. Advancement in telepsychiatry applications in rural PA. Opportunities for rural agencies to partner with academic programs through our rural psychiatry fellowship program will be showcased, in addition to unique learning and career development for early career psychiatrists. This is a great networking opportunity for clinicians and administrators, and should be of particular interest for families and consumers receiving services in rural areas. The conference is free of charge for persons using services and their families, as well as medical residents and students. For behavioral health professionals, this conference costs $75.00, which includes CEUs and lunch. About the Speakers Gail Edelsohn, MD, MSPH Dr. Edelsohn joined Community Care in 2011 as a Senior Medical Director, Quality, and is involved in developing quality initiatives and monitoring quality of care. She is a member of the Board of Quality Improvement Committee and of the pharmacy workgroup. She also served as member of the PA DHS psychotropic medication subcommittee. Dr. Edelsohn is a Co-Chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry s Ethics Committee and Vice President of the PA Psychiatric Society. Matthew Hurford, MD Dr. Hurford joined Community Care in 2015 as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Community Care. He provides leadership in the development of new business opportunities and innovative programs. Dr. Hurford also supervises regional medical directors and supports clinical and quality operations across the organization. Prior to coming to Community Care, Dr. Hurford held leadership positions in public behavioral health, managed care, and academic medicine. David Loveland, PhD Dr. Loveland is a Senior Program Director at Community Care. His research focus is on developing community-based models of care for individuals with behavioral health disorders as well as implementing effective behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques in practice. His current projects include expanding the recovery coach model in addiction treatment, integrating primary care and behavioral health services, and developing behavioral health interventions with e-therapy technology. Richard Silbert, MD, DLFAPA Senior Medical Director at Community Care and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at The Commonwealth Medical College, Richard Silbert is a practitioner with a focus on the assessment and treatment of addictions. He is part of the medical staff of CleanSlate and remains active in the community through numerous presentations regarding addiction services, suicide prevention, and recovery initiatives.

4 Continuing Education Credits Mental Health Professionals Nurses and other health care professionals are awarded 0.6 continuing education units (CEUs), which equals 6.0 hours. National Certified Counselors Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic (WPIC) is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for national certified counselors. WPIC adheres to the NBCC continuing education guidelines. This program is offered for 6.0 continuing education credits. Peer Specialists This program fulfills requirements for certified peer specialist continuing education. Peer specialists are awarded 0.6 CEUs, which equals to 6.0 contact hours. Pennsylvania Certification Board Community Care will award 6.0 hours of PCBapproved hours of education for participants attending the conference.
