2 Introduction from the Head of Education Delivery Thank you for your interest in joining the Anne Frank Trust UK as our Keighley Youth Project Producer. The information below will give you more information about the Anne Frank Trust UK and the role of the Keighley Youth Project Producer, and how the role fits within the organisation. Our vision is a society safe from prejudice and discrimination. We draw on the power of Anne Frank s life and diary to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination. We were established in 1991 by family and friends of Otto Frank, following his wish for an educational organisation to be set up in memory of his daughter Anne. We partner with schools, youth groups, local authorities, criminal justice education services and others, to deliver education to young people in a variety of settings. We educate young people across the UK about Anne Frank, her life and diary and about the Holocaust, making direct links with contemporary issues and events. In 2017, we worked with more than 53,000 individuals in our education programmes as exhibition visitors, workshop participants and peer exhibition guides. We work in six English regions and in Scotland, and have a dedicated national criminal justice education service. The impact of our work has been recognised by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. We are also identified as a flagship project in the Government's Hate Crime Action Plan. The Anne Frank Trust UK is a sister organisation of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and part of an international Anne Frank community, and has exclusive rights to use Anne Frank s life and diary in the UK to educate young people about all forms of prejudice and discrimination.

Dennis, Anne Frank Ambassador We re currently going through an exciting period of creativity and growth in the Anne Frank Trust UK, developing and implementing new products and programmes to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination. In Keighley, we will be running our Youth Action Project: engaging young people in a programme to address community divisions, social isolation and a lack of opportunities for positive social engagement, and make their voices heard within their community. The project will bring together school pupils aged with a Youth Action Group of young people aged engaged through JAMES Positive Future programme. This project has run recently in Rotherham, where the group used music, graffiti art and photography to explore the theme of Challenging Stereotypes, and in Newcastle where they have produced a film and organized a musical showcase on the theme of I will make my voice heard. As Keighley Youth Action Project Producer, you will be one of over 20 staff members in the education team working across the UK, and you will be one of three team members working across Yorkshire and Humberside. As Youth Action Project Producer, you will be responsible for the planning, running and evaluation of the Youth Action Project in Keighley. We would like to integrate as much codevelopment of the project with the young people as possible, and the content of the sessions will be bespoke to their needs and vision. You will work with our Regional Manager, Grace Nelson and Project Officer Nicola Strauther to deliver our core schools programme in 3 schools in the Keighley area. This involves training students to give tours of our exhibition to their peers, and delivering workshops on themes of prejudice and discrimination. The main body of work will be with the Youth Action Group. You will work with our partner organization and the young people themselves to build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to empower themselves, raise awareness of issues that matter to them within their community and build cohesion.

4 We envisage that the project will involve five key stages: 1. Introduction: Team-building and introducing the young people to the work of the Anne Frank Trust, Anne's life and legacy (this can be integrated with the planning stage: the aim is to ensure that the themes chosen by the young people broadly reflect the aims and objectives of the Anne Frank Trust) 2. Planning: working collaboratively with the young people and their youth workers to identify issues they would like to talk about, skills they would like to acquire and activities/trips they would like to undertake. 3. Core activity: This will be based on the planning stage but could include: visits from external speakers, visits to places of worship/museums/film screenings, arts activities (possibly with external facilitators), training around skills like public speaking, community activism, events management etc. 4. Curation and organisation of exhibition: This stage will involve deciding with the young people how they want to share the project with the rest of the community. The young people may choose a non-visual art form, for example, a performance for the launch event, but should think about what the legacy of this will be after the event 5. Evaluation, celebration and planning for legacy: Evaluation will take part throughout the entire programme, but this stage will be specifically for reflection and consideration of how the young people will continue the work they have started. Grace Nelson, Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Manager, will be your line manager, and you will work closely with Grace Dunne who leads the Youth Action project. 5 Job Description ROLE TITLE: Keighley Youth Action Project Producer SALARY: 160 per day (including travel and subsistence costs) CONTRACT: Freelance contract from 1 st October 2018 to 31 st July 2019 HOURS: Average of two days per week (15 hours per week); this will vary as the project progresses. Evening work required. BASED: This role is home-based, but will require travel to Keighley and across Yorkshire. Occasional national travel. TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The role of the Youth Action Project Producer will include: 1. Developing project content and resources, bespoke to the Keighley Youth Action Project. 2. Delivering the Keighley Youth Action Project to young people in both formal and informal settings 3. Managing the Keighley Youth Action Project as directed by the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Manager and Youth Action Project Lead. 4. Working to time and achieving targets. 5. Creating and maintaining relationships with partner organisations in Keighley 6. Working with partner organisation to allocate the project budget 7. Assessing and evaluating all work as directed. 8. Building and deconstructing the exhibition (light manual work). 9. Ensuring the safety of young people under your supervision. 10. Undertaking training. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Competences, qualifications and experience criteria Considerable full time experience of working young people aged 16 to 25 years old in an educational or youth work setting. Experience of working with secondary aged young people (particularly KS3). Experience of working in youth work or community education Teaching or youth work qualification. Experience of creating products, programmes or resources for use in educational or youth work setting. Experience of managing and delivering projects on time and within budget. Experience of building relationships with partners and funders. Understands and is passionate about the aims of the Anne Frank Trust UK. or

Experience of facilitating discussions with young people around these issues A good standard of written and spoken English. Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a small team.
