1 Young Adult Programs at Caron Caron is among the first in the country to specialize in addressing the challenges associated with the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Caron s Young Adult Program provides individualized, evidence-based treatment, including re-entry and recovery programs. Young adult patients have their own treatment setting and program, not just a Young Adult track within the framework of adult or adolescent programming.

8 Residential Assessment Program (RAP) Designed to rule in/rule out a substance use disorder diagnosis Led by program-specific psychologists Designed for young adults ages 19-25* years old Explores and assesses the patient's condition free from outside influences like peers or family conflict Identifies any co-occurring disorders Recommends an appropriate level of care and, if necessary, develops a customized treatment plan Can be conducted over winter and spring breaks Immerses the young adult into a positive peer culture Can be used as an intervention *Age range can vary based on what program is clinically appropriate for each patient. 13 Wilderness Therapy In partnership with Blackwater Outdoor Experiences Caron has a wilderness component for young adults available at an additional fee, as necessary. Through wilderness therapy, the patient will benefit from: 22-day challenging, year round courses Therapeutic curriculum incorporating backpacking, canoeing and rock climbing 1:3 staff to student ratio Intensive family component to therapy
14 Family Education Program Family members participate in a mandatory, five-day Young Adult Family Education Program that focuses on: The disease concept of addiction 12-Step programs Recovery tools Family dynamics Setting boundaries Issues relating to relapse, medications, and mental health Continuing care plans Other topics crucial for family recovery efforts Caron also offers a Family Network, which partners parents new to the treatment process with a parent who has a child in recovery and ongoing Parent and Family Support Groups throughout the country. The Satell Family Children and Teens Program is a day long workshop suitable for siblings ages 7-15 and provides an educational experience in a safe, caring environment.
15 Extended Lengths of Stay Caron offers longer lengths of stay for young adults in supervised, gender-separate housing and community settings at Caron Pennsylvania and Caron Renaissance in Boca Raton, FL : Provides a therapeutic environment to promote growth in recovery and self-awareness Fosters the development of recovery skills Preparation for transition into college, trade school or a career Sober residences for college students available in Boca Raton, FL
16 Collegiate Recovery Services at Caron Renaissance Caron provides clinically-driven opportunities to begin or continue a college program during or following treatment, with services that include: Arranging for medical leave for college students entering treatment Helping students gain acceptance into a college or technical school Helping students complete a degree started before entering treatment Transferring credits for courses taken while in treatment to their home college or university Identifying potential scholarships to offset academic costs Collaborating with the clinical team to identify the best fit programs based on each patient s educational needs, career goals, and interests--all of which complement their recovery and integrate a sober foundation. Providing a step down approach to the transition between treatment and college life with gradual steps away from treatment and toward interdependence
