2 Dear Friends of the Mid-Willamette Valley, We are pleased to announce that the first-ever gala event to benefit the students and programs of Linn-Benton Community College will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the Historic Flinn Block Building in Downtown Albany! Enclosed please find sponsorship opportunities for supporting this spectacular occasion. One Night in Old Hollywood will be an evening to remember. The event begins with a cocktail reception, followed by an excellent dinner featuring chef-driven cuisine, inspiring remarks from students, and a paddle raise, and concludes with live music and dancing. Our theme celebrates the glamorous actors, costumes, sets and movies of Hollywood s golden age in the 1930s and guests are invited to join us on the red carpet with their own vintage style. More importantly, this evening recreates the legendary magic of the cinema to illustrate the kind of similar impact our guests will have the opportunity to make that night on behalf of education. For example, did you know that a college education changes the course of life not just for an individual, but for an entire family, and the wider community? Getting the chance to attend and finish a degree means taking pride in your future, getting a good job, providing for your children, gaining skills to contribute to the community, and strengthening the Mid-Willamette Valley. In our region, Linn-Benton Community College is THE resource for higher education that constantly opens pathways from poverty to prosperity. And yet, at LBCC, more than 75% of our students cannot afford to pay for college without help and in the last few years, applications for LBCC scholarships have increased by more than 300%. Through the leadership of caring community members, organizations and businesses, the LBCC Foundation is working to raise critical resources to give hope to hundreds of people who seek a path to a better future. You can help! The LBCC Foundation Gala is an important step in support of our community s future. Through this event, we seek to raise critical funds that will enable deserving students to have the opportunity to succeed.
