2 2. 2.AIDS awareness On the day of youth day on 12 th August 2015 around 1500 NSS volunteers made a red ribbon symbol and taken oath about the awareness of AIDS. Kancheepuram district Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society also taken part of it. 3.No Photo 3. AIDS Awareness Exhibition In connection with AIDS Awareness TNACS has organized an exhibition on 12 th August Our volunteers had taken part of this event No plastic campaign In connection with Swatch Bharath no plastic campaign been organized and continuously working on it every day. 2

3 5.Potheri station cleanup Potheri station is been cleaned with the help of 40 volunteers on September 5 th All the plastics and garbage been cleared from station and also from tracks Road safety awareness A human chain organized with the help of 150 NSS volunteers in NH 45 GST road and created awareness about road accidents on 8 th September Road Traffic Control Every day morning during peak hour at GST road traffic is been control at 3 various location near SRM University campus by NSS volunteers Blood donation camp Our NSS unit and SRM blood bank organized a blood donation camp on September 5 th units of blood collected and given to the SRM medical college and hospital. 8. 3

4 9.No Photo 9.Flood relief at Chennai city During the month of December Chennai city is fully affected by heavy rainfall and flood. Our NSS volunteers split into various team and done the relief work for more than a week. 10.No Photo 10.Flood relief data entry for Kancheepuram dt As a part of flood relief work Kancheepuram district data has been entered in system with the help of SRM faculties. Our NSS Volunteers taken part of this data entry and overall more than entries been made Tree plantation at Maraimalai nagar On Febraury 25 th along with Green Nest a tree plantation program organized at maraimalai nagar. Around 250 saplings planted around the residential areas of maraimalai nagar. 4

5 Helmet awareness On 9 th march 2016 helmet awareness campaign in and around the campus along with 30 royal enfield riders. The theme of the event is to make everyone to wear helmet Go Green use bicycle On 18 th march 2016 Go green cycle rally has been organized in and around the campus along with 50 cycle riders. The theme of the event is to make everyone to use bicycle. 14.Helmet awareness lecture by Dr.Girish said Dr.Gireesh, Deputy Dean, SRM Medical College Hospital during his lecture on the topic Head injury management and prevention-importance of helmet on 7 th March,

6 15.Fire safety class SRM fire safety supervisor Mr.Murugesan gave a special lecture on types of Fire and how to control it. Also students were given training to how to control the fire using fire extinguisher Trash mob at Central railway station Along with Green Nest a Trash mob has organized creating awareness about keep environment clean. A dance, speech in all language and talk to people has conducted on 20 th March No Photos 17.Voters enrolment at SRM On behalf of Election commission of India a voter id enrolment campaign has been organized at SRM University. NSS volunteers are involved to organized and used for enter the data from 4 th to 7 th April Potheri station cleanup 2 In continue with cleaning the garbage and Swatch Bharath NSS volunteers has cleaned the station and collected the garbage from potheri station and tracks. 6

7 Election awareness campaign A house to house canvas about the importance of voting has been organized on 5th April 2016 at potheri village. Around 60 houses been covered for the canvas. A human rally also organized at from SRM University till the east potheri village. 20. Blood donation camp 2 A Blood donation camp is organized along with SRM blood bank and Lions club Guduvanchery on 9 th April Around 200 donors donated blood Election awareness Along with green nest a election awareness campaign is organized at SRM University on 15 th April This event consists dance, drama and a human rally promoting the importance of voting. 7
