2 Since it s inception, the Lorain County Life Savers Ball has raised more than $3.3 million to help the American Cancer Society free our community from the pain and suffering of cancer. Over the last 30 years, we have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of those battling cancer in our Lorain County community through such programs as Look Good, Feel Better, Reach to Recovery, and our transportation assistance Program, Road to Recovery. Your support enables the American Cancer Society to help those touched by cancer and continue our lifesaving mission in so many ways. 3 Over the past 20 years, the Life Savers Ball has recognized unsung heroes in our community by honoring them with the Living Angel Award. Each year, an individual in our community who is directly involved in the field of cancer either through personal experiences or by working with cancer patients is presented with this special award for going above and beyond to support those touched by cancer. The nominee may be a nurse, volunteer, researcher, social worker, physician, cancer patient, etc. Nomination letters specifying the accomplishments of your candidate must be received by Friday, January 13, Be sure to include your name, address, and telephone number and those of your nominee.
