We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to announce our 4th annual Restoring Hope Gala on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Green Bay. For the past three years, we have watched our annual fundraiser grow into an extraordinary night of community partnership to care for our homeless brothers and sisters. Last year's event raised over $100,000 to help offset the costs of providing overnight shelter, mental health counseling, drug and alcohol treatment, medical care, and employment readiness to those struggling with the effects of homelessness in Green Bay. St. John's relies on community support to fulfill its mission. Contrary to public perception, St. John's does not receive any city or county funding, nor any ongoing financial support from St. John the Evangelist Parish, the Green Bay Catholic Diocese, or the annual Bishop's Appeal. Because of individuals and businesses like you, we are able to not just meet the immediate needs of the homeless in Green Bay, but also walk with them as they transition out of homelessness and back into self-sufficiency. This year's Gala will celebrate our history while dreaming of a future where homelessness no longer exists in Green Bay through the lens of "I am St. John's". In addition to the live music, dinner, silent auction and services auction, the night will include an auction of guest artwork and a live shelter gospel choir. 3 ST. JOHN'S HOMELESS SHELTER & MICAH CENTER About St. John's Homeless Shelter St. John's Homeless Shelter is a seasonal, emergency, last resort shelter for homeless adults. Located in downtown Green Bay, the shelter is open each year from November 1st through April 30th. In addition to overnight shelter, St. John's provides: Case Management CommUNITY Mentorship Program Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services Employment Room Guest Internships (Paid) Housing Assistance Ministry Team On-site Service Providers including medical care, veterans services, employment training, and mental health services Sobriety Room Summer Drop-In Hours About The Micah Center The Micah Center is a year-round daytime resource center for adults. Located in downtown Green Bay, the center serves anyone who is currently homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless in the community. The center combines a compassionate drop-in feel with rigorous programming geared at self-sufficiency. Programs include: Case Management Computer Lab Drug and Alcohol Support Groups Employment Readiness Guest Internships (Paid) The Joseph Project: a rigorous faith-based employment training program in partnership with Senator Johnson's office Medical Exam room with Physician, Nurse Practitioner and Medical Case Manager On-site Mental Health Therapist Rooms for arts & crafts, music, movies, reading, and meals Workshops About COTS New in 2018: In the six months St. John's is not in operation (May-October), the shelter partners with area churches and provides the staffing and transportation to ensure that homeless individuals have access to safe sleeping. While churches provide the physical space, St. John's incurs all other expenses to ensure access to safe shelter 365 days per year.
