2 Sponsorship Invitation The 18th Annual International Conference on Hoarding and Cluttering will take place at the University of California, Berkeley on March 22nd and 23rd, This important conference is organized by the Mental Health Association of San Francisco (MHASF), the global leaders on assisting individuals with hoarding disorders, celebrating our 70th year of service to the community. The International Conference on Hoarding and Cluttering (ICHC) is the largest event of its kind in the world. The conference focuses on practical solutions and cutting edge innovations. The 2018 theme, Thinking Outside the Boxes, will bring together over 300 individuals who self-identify as having hoarding challenges, service providers, housing providers, and researchers, examining new and innovative treatments and supports to address hoarding disorders/behaviors. This year s conference will feature 16 breakout sessions, 4 rapid presentations ( pitches ), and 25+ speakers and presenters. Before our first conference in 1997, MHASF identified hoarding disorder as a significant mental health issue in the community, leading to eviction and homelessness for many lowincome San Franciscans. Since then, MHASF has been at the forefront of change. We received the 2006 National Mental Health Association Innovation in Programming Award. In 2007 we established the Institute on Cluttering and Hoarding (ICHC) and launched the overwhelmingly successful Peer Response Team in We lead the coordination of the San Francisco Task Force on Compulsive Hoarding on an ongoing basis and provide more than 500 hours of training and assistance annually for the benefit of individuals, families, and service providers.
