PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Idaho Regional Alcohol and Drug Awareness Resource Center, Boise, ID. June 2018 to Present Director Analyze needs of patrons/agencies to acquire and provide appropriate resources for prevention, treatment, and recovery related to substance abuse and other behavioral health disorders. Use data collection, oral and written communications skills, and current technology to publicize and regularly report about the Center s services. Supervise the acquisition, collection, cataloging, storing and distribution of information and publications specific to prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts related to substance abuse and other behavioral health disorders. Develop and deliver a state-wide Prevention Training Series based on evidence-based practices for prevention specialists, school counselors/clinicians, mental health and

2 substance use counseling professionals, along with schools and agencies providing prevention services. Acquire grant funding and manage grant accounts supporting the operations of the Center. Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional and statewide organizations and agencies for the purpose of carrying out the Center s mission of effective dissemination of information. Develop and maintain working relationships with campus staff and faculty who provide human and operational resources. Manage the Center s website housing electronic print resources for ordering, and multi-media resources for loan. Lead the Center s growth and supervise staff. NorthPoint Recovery, Boise, ID. November 2015 to June 2018 Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor (Intern from November 2015 to May 2016) Participate in and/or lead daily staffing between multi-disciplinary team for coordination of care within the facility/program. Team includes facility medical director/psychiatrist, nursing staff, counseling colleagues, psychiatric technicians, and can include physician assistants/nurse practitioners when case mandates their inclusion. Conduct comprehensive case management to include coordination of care with medical director, facilitating appointments with primary care provider, setting appointments for intake assessment at qualified continuing services provider for the next level of care (Partial Hospitalization Programming/Intensive Outpatient Program), and referring patient for individual counseling for continuation of services for co-occurring mental health disorders. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for adults admitted into treatment, provide appropriate diagnosis using DSM 5/ICD-10 codes, identify barriers to treatment, and assist in establishing long-term goals for patients after transition into continuing services. Design treatment plans, document progress toward treatment objectives/short-term goals, and document progress using DAP note format into Electronic Medical Record. Supervise subordinate clinical staff members to ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards, corporate policy and procedure, and ethical standards which guide best practices for the highest possible standard of care, complete chart audits for accountability, and to provide constructive feedback to clinical staff for improvement in identified areas of need. Conduct weekly individual counseling sessions for caseload of up to 10 patients, incorporating family system counseling to facilitate greater social support for patient and family system, utilizing evidence-based practices for intervention and prevention of substance abuse. Screen for suicidal ideation and self-harm, and maintain continual monitoring and documentation to facilitate the highest level of safety possible, and to foster progress in a positive direction.
