Not only will the concert be a joyous evening of music by Symphonia Caritas, but all proceeds will funnel directly to the critical services we provide to more than 2,500 low-income and homeless San Francisco Bay Area veterans each year. Our concert will be attended by over 300 Bay Area supporters, including local business owners, business executives, civic leaders, policymakers, and veterans from all generations. Swords to Plowshares mission is to heal the wounds of war, to restore dignity, hope, and self sufficiency to all veterans in need, and to prevent and end homelessness and poverty among veterans. We have been at the forefront of the veterans rights movements since 1974, when six Vietnam veterans, frustrated with the inadequate system of care for veterans, founded the organization. We accomplish our mission by providing wrap-around services (housing, case management, legal representation, and employment) to veterans in our community, and advocating for improved care and services for all veterans. 03

4 OUR PARTNER Symphonia Caritas was born in early 2015 with a benefi t concert for the Lima Center, a daytime homeless shelter in San Francisco. THE CONCERT WHEN Wednesday July 31, 2019 The idea was simple: hire professional musicians, put on a great concert, and raise more money than it cost to produce the concert. Since that fi rst concert Symphonia Caritas has continued to raise money in benefi t concerts, and expanded its mission to include free concerts directly for the underserved.
