2 Formed in 1956, ACEC of Idaho is celebrating 54 years of advocacy, education and networking! Come join us at the beautiful Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho for our annual conference and meeting. The conference will be filled with some excellent training and networking opportunities as well as plenty of fun for attendees and their families! Members and non-members alike are welcome! Schedule of Events Thursday, October 14th 6:00 pm 8:00 pm President s Reception Join us for the President s Reception at the Executive Suite. This event, with hors d oeurvres and drinks, will welcome attendees and their families. It is a great opportunity to mingle with other members, non-members and their guests in a casual setting. Dinner is on your own after this social gathering. Friday, October 15th CONTINUED 2:30 pm 3:45 pm State Officials Panel John DeThomas, Division of Aviation; Barry Burnell, Idaho DEQ; Tim Mason, DPW; and Ken Harwood, Association of Idaho Cities (invited) will share their thoughts on issues affecting the engineering community from each of their respective organizations. Friday, October 15th 8:00 am Registration Registration begins with a full breakfast! 8:30 am Opening Session Our President Karen Doherty and Conference Chair Vance Henry welcome you to this special conference. 8:45 am Noon The Affective Leader Randy Morgan, a national known motivational speaker, will give an interactive session on the Affective Leader. Randy s company motto is Life s Lesson s through the Len s of Laughter and his presentations follow that philosophy! See more detailed information in this brochure. 10:15 am 10:30 am Break Noon 1:15 pm Lunch Ken McClure, ACEC lobbyist, will be present at lunch to update attendees on what legislative issues to expect this coming year. 1:15 pm 2:15pm Idaho Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Dave Curtis, Executive Director, and George Wagner, Board member, will spend time with us to talk about the latest licensing board issues. 2:15pm 2:30 pm Break 3:45 pm 5:00 pm Transportation Panel ITD Director Brian Ness, Scott Ellsworth, Idaho Highway Users (invited) and Jerry Flats, LHTAC; will talk about transportation issues that will affect the consulting engineering community. 6:00 pm Social Hour Join us for drinks and good conversation prior to our annual banquet. 6:30 pm Annual Banquet Our guest speaker, Dr. Blackketter, Professor and Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Idaho, will talk to us on the engineering program activities and how the college is preparing students for workplace. Saturday, October 16th 7:30 am- Breakfast 8:00 am 11:00 am ACEC of Idaho Annual Membership Meeting The annual meeting will review the past year through committee reports and set the goals for next year. This is your time, as a member, to give your input and ask your questions about YOUR organization. 1:40 pm Whitetail Golf Course Golf Game Join other ACEC of Idaho members and guests in a game on the beautiful, 18 hole Whitetail Course.
