On October 17 th the beautiful field of Scottsdale Stadium, home of the world champion San Francisco Giants, will transform into a homeless village of temporary cardboard structures, a soup line, awareness and volunteer activities along with music and festivities all to create awareness and raise funds to rescue our community s homeless children, their families and pets. 2 What is Family Promise? Family Promise Greater Phoenix is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing homeless families in Maricopa County with interim shelter and support services. We work to transition families into sustainable housing. Family Promise provides comprehensive assistance for homeless families that offers hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency. The Face of Homelessness in Maricopa County The causes and factors that lead to homelessness are complex. Economic factors such as jobs, evictions, foreclosures and lack of affordable housing have significantly impacted the growth of first time homelessness in Arizona. These same factors have impeded the efforts of some to work their way out of homelessness. In the face of a poor economy, conditions such as physical and mental health issues, domestic violence and substance abuse exacerbate the downward spiral into homelessness. 3 Source DES Annual Report 2012 Family Promise s Service Family Promise is an emergency shelter program for homeless families with children. This program is for families with children. Parents must be willing and able to work and agree to comply with a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs, alcohol and violence. Families accepted into the program are assisted with enrolling their children in school and daycare, preparing a resume, seeking employment and preparing a plan for sustainability. Family Promise is one of very few emergency family shelters that allows families to stay together regardless of gender (many shelters separate the men from the women and children). Family Promise is the only Valley family emergency shelter that permits families to keep their pets on site. 70% of the families accepted into our program move on successfully to sustainable housing within 45 days of entering our program. Family Promise works with an inter-faith congregational network of 28 churches that house and feed the families on a rotation basis, which dramatically increases support and social connections to our families and lowers our service delivery costs. Family Promise-Greater Phoenix is one of 182 independent national Family Promise affiliates across the U.S. Family Promise is funded by monetary and in-kind donations from individuals, corporations, and charitable foundations. With this exclusive sponsorship we envision a lounge atmosphere with alcoholic beverages served (cash bar or wine/beer sponsored by Sponsor), appetizers and snacks (funded by sponsor), lounge area and a birds eye view of the bands and festivities on the field. This will be an excellent opportunity to engage with staff, friends, clients, along with opportunities to meet and greet with visitors offering a premium view of the spectacle of Cardboard City on the field and the evening s mission: creating awareness and fundraising for homeless children, their families and pets. This will be the only location in the facility where alcohol will be permitted. Alcohol will be sold by and/ or provided exclusively by the Charros/Scottsdale Stadium (holders of the venue s liquor license). Family Promise will fund professional entrance check staff at both the main entrance and the Party Patio Lounge. We encourage the Sponsor to furnish the patio with comfortable seating, big screen tvs,, snacks etc to create a VIP lounge.

Great Team Building Opportunity This event is run entirely from volunteer participation and donations. Volunteering is an incredibly gratifying means of making a difference and helping homeless families. Lots, Entire Streets, Neighborhoods & Subdivisions! It costs $998 to Rescue A Child from Homelessness. Help Raise Funds through sponsorships from your family, friends, co-workers and save a local child from homelessness. Lot Cost: $15 per lot. Each Cardboard City resident is asked to raise Sponsorship funds goal of $100 per person! We will once again create neighborhoods, streets, and subdivisions for groups participating in Cardboard City There is a $15 donation charge for those wishing to attend the event for the evening, enjoy the bands and festivities.
