2 What is the Westman Corporate Challenge? The Westman Corporate Challenge is an Olympic-style event in which businesses in Brandon will compete in various sporting events and mental challenges in the evenings for one week in September. In 2016, the Corporate Challenge will consist of five events: Volleyball Teams of 3 play in a round robin tournament to bump, set, and spike their way to a win. Trivia Teams of 4 test their intellectual apptitide in 5 categories of 10 questions each. Poker Individual members of each team play a Texas Hold em Poker tournament. Dodgeball Teams of ## duck, dodge, dip, and dive to stay standing on the courts. Amazing Race Teams compete in a city-wide clue-driven race. Each pit stop will involve the completion of a silly task before the next clue will be given. Teams are awarded points by winning each event. **NEW & EXCITING for 2016 Kick Off Colour Me Fun Run** On September 25th the Westman Corporate Challenge will begin with Colour Me Fun followed by a Kick Off Lunch. Colour Me Fun is a 5km fun run! Participants begin in fresh, clean (we recommend white) clothing and finish covered in a cool coating of greens, blues, pinks, purples, and yellows! Volunteers will splash and spray participants with liquids and powders at each km mark until your spotless duds are a chaos of colour! The week s events will end with the Wind Up BBQ & Social on September 30th for participants to celebrate and the winning teams to receive their prizes. Additional points will be awarded to teams for the following Spirit Events: Best team shirt Teams show off their team spirit in style by showing up to events in team uniforms. The team with the best outfit will win an additional 10 points. Biggest individual fundraiser The individual who raises the most funds will receive a special perk for themselves and win 10 extra points for their team. Biggest team fundraiser The team who raises the most money in pledges will win an extra 10 points. The winning team is the team who has accumulated the most points at the end of the week. This team will be awarded the Corporate Challenge Cup at the Septemeber 30th Wind Up Social. *Events and Spirit Events are subject to change

3 What is The Women s Resource Centre? All proceeds from the Westman Corporate Challenge will go directly to The Women s Resource Centre. The Women s Resource Centre is a warm and safe place for women to gather and share information and support. Some of the programs and services we provide are: Family Violence Counselling The Women s Resource Centre offers free counselling services to women who have been or are being abused by an intimate partner or family member and to children and youth who are exposed to violence within the family setting. Women, children, and youth may receive individual counselling or attend one of many support groups offered throughout the year. Women s Wellness Program The Women s Wellness Program is a free workshop series focused on women s health. It aims to provide the women of Western Manitoba with the knowledge and skills they need to implement long term good health habits. Sessions include bi-weekly yoga, stress management workshops, and informational health seminars. E.V.E. Women s Self-Esteem Group (Embracing Vitality & Empowerment) E.V.E is an 8 week support group that addresses topics such as self-esteem, self-empowerment, and self-advocacy. Other healing techniques used in this group include art therapy, building meditative practices, and promoting mindfulness through a holistic process of mind, body, and spirit. Community Advocate Community Resource Advocates work with women in the community, attend court, advocate for housing, assist with protection orders, accompay women to legal aid, and provide other supports as needed. Drop-In Services Information and referrals to a wide variety of community agencies and resources Computer and internet use and assistance Printing and fax services Free local calls Access to rental housing listings Breakfast program Legal Clinics Each month local female lawyers provide free 20 minute consultations addressing any legal questions falling under any aspect of the law. Newcomers Skills Workshops and Information Sessions This project involves eight sessions that inform immigrant women on the skills needed to effectively integrate into Canadian society. The goal of these sessions is to work with the women in attendance to build a sense of individual freedom while working together to respect and support them.
