1 Clubs at Erwin High School Ally Club The Ally Club advocates for respect and equality for all students. We support efforts to reduce bullying, prevent teen suicide, and promote school safety. We meet twice per month on Wednesday, after school, in Mr. Moser's room (2410). All students and staff are welcome! This year we are very excited to play Piano Men (Billy Joel and Elton John) as our Half time show! Beta Club Sponsor: Isaac Rockoff, isaac.rockoff@bcs .org The National Beta Club has become the nation's largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. We are committed to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others. Book Club Every other Tuesday on the couches in the library during lunch Rather than a traditional book club format, where every member reads the same book and they all get together to discuss it, we get together to share books by genre, subject, author, or anything else we can think of. See the schedule below to get a better idea. Each attendee is required to be ready to share a book that they read by summarizing the book, explaining why they liked it or didn't like it as the case may be, and answering questions. There is no requirement as to how recently you read the book.

2 Anyone is welcome at any of the meetings; you may come to one, two, or all of the meetings. If you're not into fantasy and want to skip that week but love graphic novels and want to talk about them at the following meeting, that's fine. Book Club is not class. Erwin High School's Eco Club is a group of students who are invested in the future of the planet, and work towards fostering environmental stewardship in the Erwin Community. Eco Club is a very informal, friendly group, and new members or interested persons are always welcome to stop by during a meeting! Additionally, it is a way for students to gain experience in their future field before transitioning to college. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with community members, organizations and friends to make a positive difference in our community.

4 We hold meetings every other Friday during SMART Lunch in room 3212 (Mrs. Wooten's room). During the first half of our meeting, we discuss upcoming events and other information regarding service hours and information about the club. The prom committee members include: Anna and Stacy K., Olga, Maria Schlegelmilch, Brooklinn Hoffman, Brianna Connor, Katlyn Crowe, Cheyann Tallent, Isana Clark, Sarah Parke, Areysi Zuniga, and Jasmine Lee. AUSTIN OR COACH GONZALES FOR VACANT POSITIONS Student Government is a body of student representatives that are responsible for organizing school activities and events to promote school spirit and pride: Everything from school pep rallies, fund raisers, community awareness activities, fundraising drives, and grade level parties. Student Government is also a vital line of communication between the students and the administration. Student government meets with Dr. Brown on a monthly basis. Student Government is the STUDENTS advocacy voice that brings up ideas, concerns, and areas for improvement directly to the faculty and administration. Student Government members are leaders and role models and work to develop leadership, cooperation, unity, and school pride throughout the school.
