1 Lions Clubs International is excited to share a new membership awards program that will reward Lions for helping to grow our association through inviting new members and organizing new clubs. The Centennial Celebration Membership Awards provide the opportunity for Lions around the world to be a part of our Centennial Celebration marking 100 years of serving our communities. 1

2 The Centennial Celebration Membership Awards provides the opportunity for Lions and Lions clubs to share in the celebration and help strengthen our organization for the next 100 years. 2

3 The Centennial Celebration Membership Awards starts on April 1, 2015, and runs through June 30,

4 So, how can Lions earn membership awards? It s as simple as asking one person to join your club, or helping to organize a new club in your area. 4

5 Here s what individual Lions can do to start earning their awards. 5

6 Any Lion who sponsors a new member between April 1, 2015 and June 30, 2018, will be immediately recognized as a Centennial Sponsor. Sponsoring Lions will receive a limited edition sponsor pin and certificate honoring them for helping to grow their club. 6

7 Lions that help organize a new Lions club between April 1, 2015 and June 30, 2018, will be immediately recognized as a Centennial Club Organizer! These Lions will receive a limited edition club organizer pin and certificate recognizing them for helping to grow Lionism in their area. 7

8 The Centennial Celebration Membership Awards offer progressive recognition for Lions that successfully sponsor new members or help organize new clubs. The program rewards Lions for inviting members that are committed to serving their community and for strong and stable new clubs. That means the longer that a new member or new club stays active and is in good standing, the more recognition a Lion can earn. 8

9 So, once a Lion has been recognized as a Centennial Sponsor or Centennial Club Organizer, they can earn additional recognition for each year the new Lion or new Lions club stays active! The longer they stay active, the higher the recognition! So, if the new Lion or new Lions club remains in good standing for a year and a day, the Centennial Sponsor or Club Organizer will be honored as a Silver Centennial Lion. If the new Lion or new Lions club remains in good standing for two years and a day, the Centennial Sponsor or Club Organizer will be honored as a Gold Centennial Lion. And if the new Lion or new Lions club remains in good standing for three years and a day, the Centennial Sponsor or Club Organizer will be honored with our highest recognition - Diamond Centennial Lion. 9

10 And with each level earned, the recognition increases for Lions that help grow our association! When a Lion earns the level of Silver Centennial Lion, they ll receive a limited edition pin, along with recognition on Lions Clubs International s website! When a Lion earns the level of Gold Centennial Lion, they ll receive a new limited edition pin celebrating their achievement, along with recognition at area forums as well as at district and multiple district conventions. They will also be honored on LCI s website. 10

11 And when a Lion earns the level of Diamond Centennial Lion, they ll receive a very special limited edition pin and certificate. They will also be honored at international convention, area forums and district and multiple district conventions. And in addition to recognition on LCI s website, these Lions will also be recognized in LION magazine. Remember, the longer the new member or new club stays in good standing, the more recognition a Lion can earn! 11

12 In addition to individual recognition for Lion members, the Centennial Celebration Membership Awards will also recognize Lions clubs that work to increase membership in their clubs or help grow Lionism in their area. 12

13 And just like the awards for individual Lions, the recognition a club can earn is also progressive based on how long new members and new clubs stay active and are in good standing. 13

14 The first level of recognition a Lions club can earn in the program is the title of Premier Centennial Lions Club. This level is earned when a Lions club inducts at least three new members during any one of the fiscal years of the Centennial Celebration OR the Lions club is listed as a new club sponsor during any one of the fiscal years of the Centennial Celebration Once the new members or new club remains in good standing for TWO years and a day, the club will be honored as a Premier Centennial Lions Club. Please note that the fiscal years to qualify for these awards are as follows: , which will also include the months of April, May and June of this year And So that means a club has the opportunity to receive this special status over the next three years! 14

15 So what will Premier Centennial Lions Clubs earn for their efforts? First, they ll receive a newly designed, limited edition banner patch. They ll also be recognized on Lions Clubs International s website, on LCI s club locator, and honored at international convention, area forums, and district and multiple district conventions. 15

16 And we have developed special recognition for Lions clubs that succeed in growing their club and district in every year of our Centennial celebration. We will be honoring Lions clubs that induct at least three new members in each of the three fiscal years of the awards program AND sponsor at least one new Lions club within those three years. Once the new members are confirmed as being in good standing, and the new club has remained in good standing for a year and a day, then the club will be honored with the designation of World Class Centennial Lions Club! Clubs earning this prestigious award will be notified in July

17 Lions clubs that earn this special recognition will receive a special award and limited edition banner patch acknowledging their achievements, custom pins for each of the active members of their club, honored in LION magazine, on LCI s website, special recognition at international convention, area forums, as well as at district and multiple district conventions. 17
