November 2012 to May 2014: Clinical Consultant for Discovery House Discovery House is a Methadone clinic in Taylorsville Utah, providing clinical and medical treatment for substance abuse issues. 1. Review and make recommendations on treatment programming for clients. 2. Provide clinical supervision for LSACS, CPC and University Students at the clinic. 3. Training and Clinical support to the staff engaging in direct client skills. Spring Semester 2005 to Current: University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work Spring Semester class teaching Social Justice and Diversity to Master Level Program for Social Work. Lead group discussions, lecture, process and grade papers and presentations. March 2002 to November 2002: Clinical Supervisor of Family Preservation, Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Provide clinical supervision to team of 9 therapist providing intensive clinical interventions with families involved in the child welfare system of Utah. January 1998 to March 2002: Family Therapist. Family Preservation, Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Family Preservation Workers provide intensive, in-home family therapy for families in crisis or at risk of loosing custody of their children due to neglect, abuse or delinquency. Family therapy is offered from a Solution-Based foundation within a 60-day time period. Prepared documentation and testified in juvenile court. Was also a CORE Trainer, provided training DCFS employees on effective treatment planning for families. January 1998: Part-Time, Private Practice What is known as Pride Counseling began as a part time private practice. April 1997 to January 1999: Therapist. Olympus View Hospital Provide therapy for adolescent clients in a residential setting dealing with mental health, behavioral disorders, chemical dependency and personality disorders. Provide individual, group and family therapy. Provide documentation, assessments and psychosocial histories. Provide treatment planning as part of an interdisciplinary team. September 1995 to April 1997: Clinical Manager Intermountain Specialized Abuse Treatment (ISAT) Center Provide clinical supervision and direction to staff. This clientele involved perpetrators and victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Coordinated treatment services with Adult Probation and Parole, Juvenile Court and Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). Provided therapy through group, individual, family and couples therapy. Wrote and revised treatment programs and clinical rational for perpetrators of sexual abuse both
3 juvenile and adult. Testified and prepared documentations for juvenile and district courts to 1996: Clinical Director, Ex-Cell Program, Utah State Prison Designed and implemented federally funded program to provide intensive residential treatment programming for chronic substance abusing inmates. Provided staff supervision. Provided group and individual therapy to inmates. Wrote treatment curriculum and program. Conducted quarterly evaluations with inmates. Wrote and updated grant proposals and progress reports. Developed policy and procedure for program to 1995 Staff Therapist, Intermountain Specialized Abuse Treatment (ISAT) Center. Provided individual, group couples and family therapy for children, adolescence and adults impacted by domestic violence and sexual abuse. Specific experience working with juvenile and adult sexual offenders and their spouses. Completed intake and assessment of new clients. Coordinated services with Adult Probation and Parole, DCFS and Crime e Victims Reparations to 1997: Therapist. Family and Evaluation Treatment Center Provided group and individual therapy. Expereinces include women s domestic violence/victim empathy group at the Utah State Prison. Group therapy to violent male offenders. Individual, family and group therapy to miners in Price Utah following a tragic mining accident. Provided Parental education to parents of juvenile sexual offenders Utah State Prison Psychological Technician: Provided psychological testing and prepared information packages for psychologists conducting assessments on inmates. Testing included the administration of the Plethsesmograph. Social Service Worker: Provided inmate services and housing assessments. Conducted classes on anger management and appropriate coping skills for prison environment. Provided crisis intervention Youth Counselor, Provo Youth Detention Center Provided Supervision and recreational activities for juveniles held in detention center. March 1989 to August 1989 Youth Counselor, St. Joseph s Children s Home Provided supervision of youth with various emotional problems. Provided feedback and counseling on daily issues, conflict resolution and communication skills in both group and one to one relationships. Education Bachelors of Science, Brigham Young University, Emphasis in Social Work. Internship: Utah State Prison as a Social Service Worker.
