I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy safe New Year. We had a great turnout at the Veteran s Day dinner. The Auxiliary did their outstanding work again this year, thank you Ladies. The Thanksgiving Dinner had a great turnout this year. Many members took advantage of not having to stay home and cook. It was great to see everyone. We tried to catch a turkey but decided he didn t want to get caught. Some of the leftovers went to the Crystal and Susan Birthday party. All enjoyed them very much. December 16 th will be the Auxiliary Christmas Party at 2:00PM Bingo Hall followed by the Post 77 Christmas Party at 5:00PM Club 77. Ladies bring gifts for Ladies Guys for Guys. NO GAG GIFTS! The Club will be closed on Christmas Day. On Sunday December 31 st we will have our annual New Year s Eve Party. The Club will open at 5:00PM, party starts at 8:00PM. See more in the Club 77 input and on flyers. Members, PLEASE let us know if you want the Club to be OPEN on New Year s Day. Tell an Officer and/or the Bartenders. If we get no input, the Club will be closed on New Year s Day. The Game Room has been remodeled. Check out what Don Harcrow (Gaming Manager) got done; it looks great. Thank You Don. Come out and enjoy YOUR Post. Joe Frey, Post 77 Commander Garnette Duncan spent all day in the kitchen, THANK YOU Garnette. Thanks also to all who donated deserts and side dishes. Let s not forget all who helped clean up after the festivities, Thanks! The Legion Family can t get these kind of activities done without members volunteering and member support. Auxiliary greetings A.L.A. members: Merry Christmas; Hope everyone had great time and all enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinner at Post 77 Remember that families are very important at this time of year. Lets all send out a special prayer for our soldiers that are deployed. We have a Christmas craft fair, with, pancake breakfast and bake sale at the Bingo Hall on Saturday December 2nd starts at 8 am, hope to see you all come out, make your favorite cookie brownie cake etc and bring them to help your Auxiliary. For all that have rented tables or want to bring baked goods we will be at the bingo hall on Friday from 2 to 5 pm. The AUX, Christmas party is Dec, 16th at 2pm Bingo Hall. Bring your favorite food and an 1

2 exchange gift and join the fun. Bingo has been slow last month so please try to come out and try your luck. No Bingo on Christmas Eve. Remember all that have been ill and tell them we are thinking of them. I want to tell everyone who has volunteered this year, THANK YOU. Casados Post 77 Adjutant & Membership Chair ALA Unit 77 Membership Greetings American Legion; who s ready for the Holidays, it s time for shopping, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends. The unit has been busy this month, our Annual reetings from the SAL: No Input. Apolonio Moe Ramirez Vice Commander, SAL Club 77 Greetings from your Club: The Thanksgiving Dinner was great. Many members came in to enjoy the Dinner. We wish to thank Garnette D. for coming in before 6:00AM and start cooking. We also want to thank the Auxiliary ladies and Legion members who brought in deserts and eats and then helped clean up after dinner. Thanks bunches. The remodeled Game Room was opened on Thanksgiving Day, come out and check it out. The Post Christmas Party will be on December 16 th 5:00PM Club 77. Club 77 will be Closed on Christmas Day. The New year s Party will be Sunday December 31 st. The Club will open at 5:00PM and the Party starts at 8:00PM. Tickets will be $25.00 per couple and $15.00 per single. We will have the Limited Edition Band, party favors, toast champagne and breakfast. See the flyers later in the newsletter. Come out and ring in 2018 with us. Happy and safe Holidays. Veterans Dinner & Program was another success Thank you to Chet Gurule our guest speaker, The Logan National Honor Society students were our meal servers, to the local business for their donations for the door prizes for the dinner, and of course to the ALA unit 77 members that took time out of their busy schedules to help put this meal and program together. It was a great honor for us to honor the many veterans that showed up to our annual Veterans Dinner & Program. Membership: Your 2017 membership card is about to expire, don t let yourself become a delinquent member, now s the time to get your 2018 Membership dues paid. It s simple, mail your renewal dues to the unit membership chairman, or leave your dues at club 77 membership box. Many of you may have wondered why the membership dues aren t on a January to January renewal basic. The National American Legion & Auxiliary membership have for several years asked for Early Bird membership paid dues, with paid dues to be 2

3 accepted starting early September of each year. Many departments and division challenge other departments to see who gets their membership percentage dues paid up first, so with you paying your dues early, helps our Unit & Department reach those challenges. So now I challenge you, unit 77 Auxiliary members, get your dues paid early, please don t wait till the last minutes to get your dues paid. Your early paid dues will help with these challenges. I ve taken over the duties of the Unit Chaplain, the elected unit chaplain had not attended a unit meeting in 4 months, so Gloria had to reappoint the position, I offered to finish off the year as the unit Chaplain. Lord, thank you for your everyday gifts to us. We have so much to be thankful for, not just on Thanksgiving Day, but each new day you give us. We thank you for all things, in thy Holy name we pray.
