He has to be fully bandaged four times a day and is at constant risk of serious infection.

In this fundraising pack and on our website jeansforgenes.org, you will find all the information and resources you need to plan your amazing day. Shout about your day so everyone knows it s happening Inside you will find posters to display prominently in your school so staff, parents and children can see when, why and how you are raising money. You can download template letters from our website to send to parents and let them know well in advance what they need to do. We also have short films on the Jeans for Genes site about some of the 500,000 children in the UK who live with the daily challenges of a genetic disorder. You can post these films online or show them in assembly. What to do with the cash you raise and how to thank everyone who donated We ll show you how to create a JustGiving page. We have also included a donation box inside this pack so visitors to your school can donate. All you need to know about how to send the money to us is on the back of this guide. Find a Letter To Parents template on our website. This gives parents all the details they need. Tweet and post about your upcoming day if your school has social media accounts, using the hashtag #jeansforgenes. Remember to follow us too. Let local media know about your day. Find a press release template on our website. THE BIG DAY Wear jeans, change lives! Feel proud your school is making a difference to some of the most severely disabled children in the UK. Collect donations Remind parents about your JustGiving page. If you are using the collection box, ask adults to complete the GiftAid form. We will get an extra 25% from government. Show us what you are doing Share your photos with us on social media using the hashtag #jeansforgenes. Include the name of your school. Post your activities on your JustGiving page too. After the Day Round it up Remind parents about your JustGiving page in case anyone has forgotten to donate. 7 Jeans for Genes Day is all about raising money to help some of the most vulnerable children in the UK. Thanks to YOU and your school the lives of some children with life-altering genetic disorders WILL be transformed. Here are the types of projects your money could fund hires an arts company to bring the magical world of drama and music to a special school for children whose conditions mean they could never visit a cinema or theatre. 2,000 2,000 contributes towards a specialist nurse who knows everything about a genetic condition. The nurse helps the child during long hospital stays and families who cope at home. 500,000 children in the UK live with a life-altering genetic disorder 6,000+ there are over 6,000 different genetic disorders
