3 TEACHING The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio current College of Social Work Integrated Seminar II on Child and Youth Services Graduate level class for developing competencies essential for working with children, youth, and families in various service settings. Includes specialized knowledge of the current trends and issues, policies, theories, range of services, desired outcomes, and best practices pertaining to the social work practice in children and youth service settings. Evaluating Programs & Policies Prepares Masters in Social Work (MSW) students with knowledge and skills for planning and conducting program and policy evaluation studies. Involves learning s of evaluation types, policy evaluation methodologies and designs, issues of implementation fidelity, measurement techniques, and approaches to analyzing evaluation data and presenting evaluation findings. Applied Program & Policy Evaluation Course is second in series for Masters in Social Work (MSW) where students apply knowledge and skills to evaluate a program or policy intervention in their specific social work practice area. Includes development of evaluation skills such as data collection, management, and analysis, along with reporting and dissemination by applying their knowledge of the population, policies, and organizational design and management issues specific to their practice area. Juvenile Delinquency and Correctional Practice in Social Work Course introduces students to the history and evolution of the juvenile justice system, risk and preventive factors associated with delinquent behavior, theoretical perspectives on the causes of juvenile delinquent behavior, and current challenges facing the juvenile justice system. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, Columbus, Ohio College of Social Work, Graduate Research Assistant 2012 current Participation in various aspects of research initiatives involving youth development, juvenile delinquency, and the juvenile justice system. Assisted in research proposal approval, research design and methodology, IRB submission, and grant applications. During research implementation, responsibilities included project management, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of research findings. Quantitative methods included statistical data analysis, survey administration, and computerized data collection. Qualitative methods include interviews, participant observation, and focus groups. LiFE Sports Youth Leadership Program Directed the development and execution of educational leadership program for older youth as part of the Ohio State University Community and Youth Collaborative Institute (CAYCI) initiatives. Year-long program curriculum Includes service and outreach, educational curricula, and research initiatives to support overall positive youth development.

4 21st Century Community Learning Centers Capacity-Building and Evaluation Continuation Project. Facilitated data collection, analysis, and reporting for program evaluation of 271 schools funded by the 21 st CCLC Ohio Department of Education program. Race to the Top Evaluation, Ohio Department of Education. In collaboration with Miami University s Center for School-Based Mental Health, participated in site interviews and created case study reports with Race to the Top participating school districts on their implementation of the family and civic engagement model to initiate school turn around. Columbus After-School All-Stars. Evaluation conducted using varied methodological approaches (observations of staff and stakeholder focus groups) to provide specific guidance related to strengths and weaknesses of the program. Important contribution for ongoing continuous improvement to support the healthy development and academic achievement of youth participants. College of Human Ecology & Education, Graduate Research Assistant Project member in the department of Human Development & Family Science doing data analysis, transcribing interviews, statistical reporting, project recruitment, client assessment, and family therapy sessions. Engaged in research project designed to better understand the relationship between the child and the drug-abusing parent that can help attenuate the child s own problem behaviors and drug use. 6 SERVICE Circleville Juvenile Detention Center Current Assist with volunteer activities to provide mentorship and educational programming to juvenile detainees in state facilities. Alateen Sponsor 2008 Current Al-Anon s recovery program for adolescents who are living with or affected by the problem alcoholism. Sponsors play an active role in meetings guiding and sharing and encourage teens to help one another and teach effective and healthy ways to cope with problems.
