2 RESOURCE GUIDE The A21 team is passionate about equipping you with tools that will help you on your journey as a member of A-Teams. This PDF document is full of resource sheets you can print, make copies of, and tailor to make your own. Here is a list of what you will find TEAM RESOURCES Vision Casting...3 Structuring Your Team A-Teams Group Structure...6 EVENT RESOURCES Event Outline...7 Event Approval Letter...8 Sponsorship Request...9 Presentation Guide...10 Day of Your Event
3 VISION CASTING What is the vision for your A-Teams group? Vision casting is the process of establishing a vision and making it known. It is a vital part of starting a movement and retaining dedicated members. Vision casting can range from creating the vision for your A-Teams group to casting the vision for a single meeting. The vision of The A21 Campaign is fourfold: 1) Prevent people from being trafficked 2) Protect and support those who have been trafficked 3) Prosecute traffickers and strengthen legal responses to trafficking 4) Partner with law enforcement, service providers, and community members to provide a comprehensive front against trafficking The vision for each A-Teams group will be different. Do you want to focus on fundraising? Or empower those around you to make a difference? What about spreading awareness? Perhaps something entirely different? Your vision could be a combination of all of these action steps. Brainstorm together and come up with a group name and a comprehensive vision for your A-Teams group. In a couple of statements, describe your goals and your plan to accomplish them. For Example: Name: Tigers Against Trafficking Vision Statement: Tigers Against Trafficking is a group of LSU students firmly committed to playing our part in the abolition of modern day slavery. Our heart is to mobilize both the student body and local community to actively address this injustice on a global scale. Then write out your vision statement Name of your A-Teams group: The vision of your A-Teams group: 3

10 PRESENTATION GUIDE As a member of A-Teams, you may be given the opportunity to raise awareness about human trafficking through presentations. While this may seem overwhelming at first, the more times you present, the easier it will become. Below is a simple guide you are welcome to use. Please also be sure to visit the A21 website to download A21 materials to hand out during your presentations. The A21 Campaign Presentation Outline: 1. Thank your host for allowing you to have the opportunity to speak 2. Show a promotional video: 3. Present the facts about human trafficking and share statistics you have learned 4. Read the testimony of an A21 survivor 5. Talk about The A21 Campaign and what is being done to stop human trafficking 6. Explain your experience as a part of A-Teams and the vision of your group 7. Invite others to sign up to be involved in your group 8. End with a story of hope or offer inspiration and encourage people to make a difference and do something to help stop human trafficking Engage With Your Audience While speaking to an audience, it is important to engage them in your presentation. Be sure to have plenty of visuals during your presentation and tangible information (brochures, flyers) for your audience to take away. Consider interacting with your audience by playing a game, having a competition, or handing out prizes for answers to questions. Be creative in your presentation and have fun! Inspire Human trafficking is a very heavy issue, and so it is important to always leave your audience with a sense of hope and ways to take action. Sharing personal testimonies of how you have helped combat human trafficking is a great way to inspire others. Always invite others to get involved in what you are doing to help combat human trafficking. 10
