1 April 6, 2018 STEP UP STAY UP INSPIRE Your Fundraising Toolkit CAMH One Brave Night Issued December 2017
2 Fundraising Ideas On April 6, invite your friends (and team!) to a CAMH One Brave Night party. You can host it at home, at work or just about anywhere, like a favourite venue. Ask your guests for a donation to take part in this night of fun. There are plenty of fun and exciting ways to take part in CAMH s One Brave Night for Mental Health challenge. Here are a few more suggestions. Party time Host a dinner party and ask your guests for donations in lieu of a host gift. Midnight stroll Do a walking tour of your city; the darkness offers a whole new perspective. Work it Fundraising at work can be great fun. Get the boss on board, then charge co-workers to dress casually or in pjs for the day. Or organize a board game tournament at lunch. Charge an entrance fee (donation) to play and you ll soon surpass your fundraising goal! Don t forget to ask your company to match donations made. 2 April 6, 2018 Fundraising Tool Kit

11 #OneBraveSelfie Bootcamp You ve worked hard to reach your fundraising goal and spent the night entertaining friends and likely thought of naps. Now it s time to celebrate with taking and posting your #OneBraveSelfie! Alone or with your team-your best selfie will capture these wonderful moments forever while you symbolically shine a light on mental illness and addiction. There s an art to taking a fabulous selfie. CAMH Foundation staffer Catelyn Brett has mastered it. Here are her tips to up your selfie-game. 1. Find your light Make sure there is a light source behind the camera for better image quality. Don t use your camera s flash if you can help it, and try to get the sunrise in your selfie. 2. Strike a pose! Take shots from several angles and perspectives to get your best photo. 3. Be yourself Be silly, use props. Get your pets and friends involved for a group selfie (a groupie ). The more people tagged in the photo, the more likely it will be seen and shared! 4. Extend your reach Use a selfie stick to get more people in your #Groupie. 5. Filters are your friend Experiment with filters on apps like Instagram to enhance the atmosphere of your photo. 11 April 6, 2018 Fundraising Tool Kit
12 6. Make your #OneBraveSelfie your own Create a collage or add some text or stickers using a free app like Photo Collage. Get creative! 7. Share, share, share!! Use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to show your family and friends what you have accomplished. You took the challenge to step up, stay up and inspire hope in support of those living with mental illness! Now that is a selfie worth sharing. Don t forget to use the hashtags #OneBraveSelfie #OneBraveNight 12 April 6, 2018 Fundraising Tool Kit
