The session will highlight the best approaches for changing the system of care in light of new models and funding. One example will focus on how providers can partner with an FQHC for prevention and early intervention for young people using EPSDT funded models of care and exemplify that less is known about how behavioral health integration can be used in this setting. The panel will take the opportunity to discuss models of care for non-medi-cal eligible children and what are the barriers and pathways to developing contracts with health plans to provide services inclusive of secondary prevention programs for at risk students, tertiary prevention, and treatment. Panelists will exemplify the strong recognition and value of school mental health as part of a better approach to school discipline and prevention strategies under the titles of RTI (response to intervention) and PBS (positive behavior supports). The California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) is an organization of county governments working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families and communities. Prevention and Early Intervention Programs implemented by CalMHSA are funded by counties through the voter-approved Mental Health Services Act (Prop 63). C A L I F O R N I A CAADPE ASSOCIATION OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG PROGARM EXECUTIVES, INC. The California Association of Alcohol and Drug Program Executives, Inc. (CAADPE) is a statewide association of community-based nonprofit substance use treatment agencies. Its members provide substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services at over 300 sites throughout the state and constitute the infrastructure of the state s publicly funded substance use disorder treatment network. It is the only statewide association representing all modalities of substance use disorder treatment services. The County Behavioral Directors Association of California represents the county public behavioral health authorities in California. The purpose of the Association is to assure the accessibility of quality, cost-effective, culturally competent behavioral health care for the people of the State of California by providing the leadership, advocacy, and support to public behavioral health programs.
