1 NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, January 06, 2015 at 7pm sharp! ASSORTED LINKING MACHINES BY CHRIS HITCHCOCK MEET THE 2015 BMKG EXECUTIVE DECEMBER 2014 MEETING NOTES & LARGE COLOUR CHALLENGE PHOTOS Welcome January 2015! Happy New Year to each of you. It is a very crisp December 31st outside today in Toronto as I prepare the January 2015 newsletter. I hope each of you enjoyed your holdiay and that once the social season settles down hopefully you can make the time to sit at your machine and do some knitting. To all of you currently in warmer climates, Bon Voyage and see you upon your return in April and May! We look forward to seeing those of you who are still residing here in Ontario and New York State at our next guild meeting on Tuesday, January 06. Our demonstation will be by my co-chair Chris Hitchcock on Assorted Linking Machines. We will also be introducing the 2015 Executive Members at the January meeting and as always, looking forward to your Show N Tell items. Our December meeting was a great success with a good turnout, especially with the weather providing challenging road conditions for many of us travelling to Burlington. We all made it and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Pot Luck dinner. Congratulations to all of you who participated in the Large Colour Project Challenge. Thank you to all the members of last years executive for all your hard work organizing the meetings and programme for the 2014 BMKG year. See you on Tuesday! Patrick Madden/2015 BMKG Co-Chair!1

2 December 2014 Christmas Potluck Dinner & Large Colour Project Challenge! Our December 2014 meeting was a great success. Our thanks to all of the guild members who contributed food for our Pot Luck Dinner and a special note of thanks to Bonita and Linda, our Executive members in charge of Social for coordinating all the food and meal service. To each of you who ventured out and patiently made your way to the meeting through very icy road conditions and awful traffic conditions, we thank you! Enjoy the photos of the meeting and of the Large Colour Project Challenge, our personal best knitting challenge focusing on the use of colour. I love this group photo! What a great group of knitters! Thank you so much for a great 2014!!2

7 Recipe for a Happy New Year Author Unknown Take twelve whole months. Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness, hate, and jealousy. Make them just as fresh and clean as possible. Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or thirty-one different parts, but don't make up the whole batch at once. Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients. Mix well into each day one part of faith, one part of patience, one part of courage, and one part of work. Add to each day one part of hope, faithfulness, generosity, and kindness. Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation, and one good deed. Season the whole with a dash of good spirits, a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play, and a cup full of good humor. Pour all of this into a vessel of love. Cook thoroughly over radiant joy, garnish with a smile, and serve with quietness, unselfishness, and cheerfulness. You're bound to have a happy new year. All the best in 2015!!7
