The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, NCAI and the Alaska Native Women s Resource Center are coordinating with several Senate and House offices week of Feb. 12/18. 3 Mission To provide cultural services, advocacy and mentorship to support the success of Native American/Alaskan Native families.

4 What we do. Ø Our cultural services help hundreds of women working with local Tribes, agencies and Native organization. Ø Advocates/Case Management serve over 100 single women, families, Dads to secure housing, return to school, employment, reunite with families, maintain sobriety and transport to safety. Ø Our mentorship program provides training, hands-on experience to inspire mentees to join our network of services.

5 Cultural Services Menu Mother Nation cultural services menu is custom-designed based on the need of participants, Tribe or programs. Elders steer the program and services to ensure the health and wellness of NWIN participants are met. 6 Gathering of Women Sweats The Native Women In Need Gathering of Women Sweat is a gathering of Native women coming together to pray, cleanse and support one another. Our sweats are not ceremonial, more therapeutic to cleanse body, mind and spirit. Our Elder Arlene Red Elk was given this responsibility over 35 years ago to support Native women during difficult times. Please bring the following items: 1. Sun dress, skirt or wrap (if you don't have one, shorts and tank will work) 2. Towel 3. Water bottle 4. Change of clothing 5. Smiles and hugs We also need to be aware of any health conditions or allergies you may have. If this is your first sweat please give us a call at (206) for any questions or additional information.

7 Homeless Prevention Program Mother Nation Homeless Prevention Program works with Native American families with children a at imminent risk of homelessness. 8 Collaborations Partnerships In partnership with Catholic Community Services, Mother Nation provides oversight, and custom-designed cultural services, advocacy and mentorship to Spirit Journey Recovery House. Spirit Journey is a transitional home for Native homeless adult women in recovery from substance abuse. Services include Talking Circles, DV groups, Cultural workshops, Native CD classes with a sweat onsite. In collaboration with Tulalip Tribes Family Services, Mother Nation provides an alternative cultural service to support several women s and youth groups within the Problem Gambling Program and training and referrals to Legacy of Healing. Gathering of Women Sweats are held weekly.
