2 Patuxent Moose Lodge # 2393 July - Aug Greetings fellow Moose members: FROM THE DESK OF THE GOVERNOR Two months into my governorship and what a great two months it has been. Many, many thanks to all of our LOOM and WOTM members for volunteering so many hours to make sure the Patuxent Moose Lodge is successful and thriving. With everything from delicious drive through chicken dinners, to kick-butt yard sales and community softball games I am continually amazed by everyone dedication and the best part, the year is just beginning! We have a lot of events planned throughout the year. Some are our classic ones like our adult and children s Halloween, Christmas and New Year s Parties. Some are in the planning stages (think Bar-Athalon, outdoor movies, chili cook-off s and so much more). Keep an eye (or an ear) out for advertisements and/or signup sheets for upcoming events. We will try to use flyers/posters, newsletters, calendars, facebook page, or even word-ofmouth, however you hear about it, come and join the fun. Looking for something other than big social gatherings, come in for one of Virginia s lunches (her slap-your-mama-good Reuben Sandwiches are coming up Sept 30 th ). Still wanting something earlier in the day, come on in for Carolyn or Kaye s breakfasts, every Saturday and Sunday morning from 6:00-10:00. What else do we have going on right now? We ve started Queen of Hearts, every Wednesday night drawing done at 7:00. Want to watch some NASCAR? How about some college or NFL football? Come on in and watch it on one of the many TV s or better yet.check out our projector screen! Last but not least Prime Rib.it s back! Come and get it on September 17 th from 5:00 8:00 Fraternally Yours, Matt Griffith Board of Officers Governor: Matt Griffith Jr. Governor: Scottie Bean Administrator: Drew Dobbins Prelate: Kyle Boyd Treasurer: Jimmy Hayden Past Governor: Russ Anderson Trustees: 1 st year: Jeff Kreps 2 nd year: John Price 3 rd year: Lee Huston Sgt. at Arms: Teddy Stallings Inner Guard: Gary Meekins Outer Guard: Freddie Clarke

4 Senior Regent Message September is going is be a terrific month!! They are many great dinners to come that are typically followed by singing and dancing with the DJ's on Fridays and/or Saturdays. I feel the need to thank everyone, men and women, for what you do. Whether it is fund raising, having a dinner, cleaning up after a dinner, and/or helping in any small and/or big way, thank you very much for what you do and continue to do. I do not have to mention each and every one of you by name because you already know who you are! The Hunt Valley Convention was very informative and enjoying. It is always wonderful to learn new things and to be with all the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Delaware LOOM and WOTM. WOTM meetings will be on September 6th and September 20th. We would love to see not only the regular members who attend, but also new members. All of you who used to come out for the monthly meetings we miss you, please consider attending. We certainly would appreciate your input and/or any new ideas. This will make our WOTM bigger, better, and more successful. We cannot do this without everyone stepping up to the plate when the time arises. Attending the meetings is the first step for everyone to make a difference in a positive manner. So plan on coming out this month to a meeting and get back into the WOTM groove!! We don't bite. I promise you. As long as we all get along and work together as a team, not only with ourselves but also with the men, I am quite positive that our Moose Lodge here at Patuxent will continue to prosper and grow. Also, I am quite positive that together we will continue to give 100% to Mooseheart and to Moosehaven. I m so happy to announce that all of our Chapter s officers, chairman, guide and assistant guide positions have been filled. Additionally, please remember all future WOTM meetings are now the first and third Tuesday of the month.
