Coordinator of mental health services in a 50 bed Crisis Stabilization Unit and 150 bed Transitional Care Unit (inpatient hospital unit) in a major institution of the Florida Department of Corrections. Duties included oversight, and coordination of all mental health services provided by multidisciplinary team of professionals to inmates who are mentally ill, and unable to be maintained in the general prison population; direct clinical supervision of 12 mental health staff members who provide psychotherapy, psychological evaluation, and case management services to impaired inmates. I was also responsible for the design, and implementation of the comprehensive treatment program which serves these inmates. April 1990 February 1996 INDEPENDENT PRACTICE OF CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY: 1304 DeSoto, Suite 200; Tampa, FL Clinical psychology services provided include individual adult, and child psychotherapy, family therapy, and psychological evaluation including objective and projective measures, forensic evaluation, and school consultations. September June 1993 VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Florida Mental Health Institute, Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health. Coordinator for federally funded (NIMH, NIDRR) multi-state (6) research project investigating the efficacy of community-based, family-focused, alternatives to traditional residential and hospital based treatments of children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders. Duties include research design, instrument development, training of data collectors, supervision of data collection, reduction, analysis, interpretation, writeup, and dissemination. Coordinator for federally funded (NIMH) multi-disciplinary clinical training program to prepare professionals for working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders and their families. Program runs eleven months and trains student from five disciplines - social work, clinical psychology, school psychology, nursing, and medicine. Duties include curriculum development, evaluation of students and impact of training, teaching, arranging guest lecturers, and coordinating/facilitating practicum placements for students.

Work with a team of program evaluators at the Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health to provide assistance to state and local mental health programs and agencies regarding the evaluation of their service programs for children with serious emotional disorders and their families. Duties vary in accordance with assistance requests, but have included assistance in grant writing, system development projects, and designing evaluations of service programs. Other general responsibilities associated with the Research and Training Center include preparing and editing manuscripts for publication, planning conferences, program chair for conferences, writing for Center newsletter, general consultations with individuals, programs, and agencies regarding mental health services for children.
