1 CRISIS ACCOMODATION 13 th March 2017 GENERAL Haymarket Centre Regent St Chippendale Edward Eagar Lodge Bourke St LINK 2 HOME: Homelessness Line 24hrs a day, 7 days a week Mission Beat: (Transport for homeless people to crisis accommodation) Support people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in inner Sydney to maximise their potential and identify pathways to safer, healthier and more fulfilling lives. Provide support to people who live with mental illness and addictions by providing treatment and referrals. Assist through addressing basic needs of food and hygiene, and use case management, advocacy and the development of living skills as pathways to rehabilitation. Services include: Crisis accommodation Support for those using alcohol and other drugs Support for those with challenging behaviour, mental health, rehabilitation issues Support for people to access long-term housing with support to connect to their community Wesley Edward Eagar Lodge is located on Bourke Street, in the heart of the city of Sydney. The lodge accommodates 76 single people aged from 18 to 80 plus years. There are a variety of women s and men s rooms. Edward Eagar Lodge offers a comprehensive support program to residents and those in the wider community. The program addresses the physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, vocational and recreational needs of those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. 2 MEN WITHOUT CHILDREN Foster House Mary St (Entrance via Knudsen Pl) Over night crisis accommodation Mission Australia Centre Denham St Matthew Talbot Hostel Talbot Place Woolloomooloo 2011 Time Period: up to 3 months Age: 21+ Appointments for assessments are necessary. The Salvation Army provides crisis accommodation and support services to vulnerable Youth; single adults, (both male and female) and women with accompanying children across ACT, NSW and QLD. We endeavour to display Christian values of compassion and integrity in our dealings and to welcome and support all who seek our assistance without discrimination. Our qualified staff work with individuals and families to alleviate the underlying causes which led to their homelessness in the first place and endeavour to journey with them to find long term solutions. Aims to break the cycle of homelessness by empowering individuals, providing varying levels of intervention through flexible, innovative, responsive services and support options. Provides crisis accommodation, low cost housing for individuals and a permanent home for young people through Creative Youth Initiatives. Support services include dental, medical, legal, TAFE accredited training, art program, generalist counselling and gambling counselling. The service is for people who have been on the street for less than four years, are not intoxicated and willing to participate in the program. The Matthew Talbot Hostel provides accommodation and specialised support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service aims to provide immediate support and accommodation for people at the time of crisis as well as facilitate access to other essential services and more permanent housing. These services range from provision of nutritional meals, clothing, showers and basic medical to intensive case management, legal and housing support, specialised health care, advocacy and providing a safe, welcoming environment for people who are sleeping rough and have experienced trauma. The hostel employs a multidisciplinary team, allowing for a coordinated and client centred approach to care and support; mental health worker, optometrist and podiatrist. Weekly visits: Centrelink officers; legal service. Individual assistance and case management is also provided. Alcohol, drugs, violence and weapons are not permitted.

3 WOMEN WITHOUT CHILDREN B Miles Supported Accommodation Dolores Single Women's Refuge Samaritan House Supports women 18 years + (without accompanying children) who are living with a mental illness and are homeless/at risk of homelessness. For women abstinent from drugs and alcohol. 12 week recovery focused program. Dolores Refuge is a crisis accommodation and case management service for unaccompanied women who have experienced domestic/family violence. Safe shared accommodation with individual bedrooms. Provides accommodation to homeless women and their families, crisis accommodation to single women, accommodation for victims of trafficking, and transitional accommodation. Case management, counselling, and referrals are available to residents. Supports women 18 years + (without accompanying children) who are living with a mental illness and are homeless/at risk of homelessness. For women abstinent from drugs and alcohol. 12 week recovery focused program Ph: info@bmiles.org.au Hour Domestic Violence Line Central Intake Line Call the 24 Hour DV line for a referral to this refuge B. Miles Women s Foundation Time Period: medium Age: 18 + Supports women 18 years + (without accompanying children) who are living with a mental illness and are homeless/at risk of homelessness. For women abstinent from drugs and alcohol. 12 week recovery focused program. Provides supported accommodation for women without dependant children, who have a mental illness and are homeless or at risk of being homeless. Residents are to have a low-support need and be willing to receive regular clinical support.

4 Samaritan House Crisis Accommodation: up to 3 months Transitional: up to 6 months Call Link 2 Home for a referral to this refuge, Ph: Bonnie Women s Support Refuge Link 2 Home Time Period: short term Elsie Refuge for Women and Children Provides accommodation to homeless women and their families, crisis accommodation to single women, accommodation for victims of trafficking, and transitional accommodation. Case management, counselling, and referrals are available to residents. Supports women 18 years + (without accompanying children) who are living with a mental illness and are homeless/at risk of homelessness. For women abstinent from drugs and alcohol. 12 week recovery focused program Provides crisis and transitional accommodation for women without children. Bonnie Support Services Ltd provides support and/or accommodation to women and their children, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or escaping domestic violence. Call or the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on Short term accommodation for single women (without children), crisis and transitional accommodation. Provides crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence. Will also consider homeless or last trimester pregnant women. Domestic violence specialists offering advocacy and referral. Clients receive case management and support to take control of their own destiny. Samaritan House Crisis Accommodation: up to 3 months Aboriginal Women and Children s Crisis Service Hour Domestic Violence Line Link2home Pathway Alliance Link2home Provides crisis accommodation for women with children. Call Link 2 Home for a referral to this refuge, Ph: Crisis Accommodation for up to 3 months, as well as transitional accommodation. Also provides case management. Call the DV line or Link2home for a referral to this refuge. Crisis Accommodation for single women for up to 3 months. Also has places for single mothers and families and has transitional housing. Call Link 2 Home for a referral to this refuge.

5 Vincentian House Link2home YOUTH Oasis Youth Support Network Crown Street Time Period: up to 3 months Age: Gender: All Crisis Accommodation and case management service for families and single, unaccompanied women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Call Link 2 Home for a referral to this refuge. Crisis accommodation for youth for up to 3 months. Services include recreational programs, case management, drug and alcohol support, referrals and linking to health services. TRANSGENDER and TRANSGENDER INCLUSIVE The Gender Centre Parramatta Rd Annandale Haymarket Centre Regent St Chippendale Up to 3 months Age: 18 + Provides crisis and supported accommodation for transgender, gender questioning and gender diverse people over 18 years. Also provides case management, groups, counselling and resources. Provides supported crisis accommodation for men, women and transgender, as well as 4 beds specifically for people with HIV for up to 3 months. Ring for a phone assessment. INTOXICATED PERSONS Haymarket Centre Regent St Chippendale Provides supported crisis accommodation for men, women and transgender, as well as 4 beds specifically for people with HIV for up to 3 months. Ring for a phone assessment. Up to 3 months Age: 18 +
