2 Curriculum Vitae 2 Research Experience Co-Principal Investigator, Lincoln-Lemington Lead Investigation & Awareness Research 2017 Research examine the overall awareness of lead and lead exposure among Lincoln-Lemington residents. Our research agenda had three specific aims: (1) increase awareness of lead and lead exposure in residents, (2) increase testing for lead poisoning in mothers with children under the age two-years, and (3) use GIS mapping to understand how the built environment influence lead exposure in residents. Principle Investigator, Pittsburgh Social Cohesion & Disorder Study 2017 Survey research examine the perceptions of social cohesion and disorder among neighbors living in the City of Pittsburgh to determine how do community factors influence social relationships. Principle Investigator, PRIDE STUDY: Focus Groups, University of Pittsburgh 2016 Focus groups examines the lived experiences of African American adults with type 2 diabetes in the City of Pittsburgh. Study aims to expand the current understanding of diabetes, diabetes care, and diabetes treatment among targeted population. Principle Investigator, PRIDE STUDY: Survey, University of Pittsburgh 2016 Survey examines the impact that both perceived racism and discrimination have on diabetes, diabetes care, and diabetes treatment among African Americans with type 2 diabetes in the City of Pittsburgh. Study aims to measure the association racism, discrimination, and the interaction of racism and discrimination (internalize stress) have on diabetes care among the targeted population. Co-Principal Investigator, Pitt-Bridge. Homewood Children s Village & the University of Pittsburgh 2014 Youth-led project aimed to understand health issues, specifically asthma, its correlates, consequences and comorbidities in Homewood, a community faced with wellness challenges. Youth were engaged in Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to assess the health concerns in this community and generate a strategic agenda to improve community health. Co-Principal Investigator, the Buddy System Project, UPMC General Internal Medicine Study examined the degree to which diabetic patients usage of existing social supports improves diabetic management and lowers Hemoglobin A1c. The results of study will assist physicians and diabetes educators in using social support as a best practice measure to improve management of patients with Hemoglobin A1c greater than nine. Community PARTner, Clinical & Translational Science Institute. University of Pittsburgh Assisted researchers in training that enables scientist to generate relevant clinical and translational research that is actionable towards communities with complex health conditions Clinical Experience University of Pittsburgh: Research Assistant Assist researchers in tasks related to current research studies to maintain or improve of study methodology and mode delivery. Provide oversight, assistance, and feedback on current research studies to maintain data collected in compliance with the University of Pittsburgh Human Research and Protection Office (HRPO).

3 Curriculum Vitae 3 Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh: Health Advocate Provided the Urban League clients and their networks with information about services related to promoting health and the access to health care in the greater Pittsburgh region. Assisted in building research and partnerships with public health, medical, educational and business communities that increase participation from vulnerable populations in health-related research. UPMC Health Plan: Clinical Social Worker Provided clinical social work support to patients and healthcare professionals at UPMC Montefiore Hospital General Internal Medicine Department. Facilitated appropriate social work interventions that address and resolve psychosocial, emergent, and preventative social and medical barriers to increased medical adherence and overall health and well-being. Achieva: Weekend Coordinator Provided clinical support to physically and intellectually impaired adults in a residential setting. Acknowledged for enhancing the physical and social wellness of clients through the initiation of community based programming and particularly effective supervision of program staff. Wilkinsburg School District: Lead Math Tutor K-6 th Wilkinsburg, PA Managed 13 certified teachers and tutors in program designed to deliver mathematical content materials to at-risk students in grades K-6 th in efforts to improve Pennsylvania System of State Assessment (PSSA) outcomes. Recognized for program leadership that lead to enrolled students exceeding grade level performance on PSSA exam years 2010 and Mercy Behavioral Health: Milieu Therapist Provided clinical oversight and therapeutic interventions to K-3 students seeking acute stabilization of inappropriate social and classroom behavior at Pittsburgh Mercy Health System Partial-Hospitalization Program. Implemented a holistic-team, student-centered, solution-focused applications in resolving acute mental and social mania. Mercy Behavioral Health: Dancing Classroom Instructor Taught Ballroom Dancing to 5 th grade students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools as an evidence-based therapeutic intervention designed to resolve social conflict among students and aid in building social and physically healthier classrooms. Led students to the group s first city-wide ballroom dancing competition Mercy Behavioral Health: DUI Instructor Facilitated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) therapeutic groups with DUI offenders designed to generate understanding and ownership regarding how one s automatic thoughts influenced their behaviors and resulted in their DUI charge. Implemented an educational intervention program geared specifically toward teaching offenders to independently analyze their thought processes and identify ways to alter behavior before encountering negative consequences Mercy Behavioral Health: Prevention-Intervention Specialist

Implemented seminars, workshops and training programs designed to assist school-based practitioners in identifying, supporting and connecting at-risk youth to available services. Wilkinsburg School District: Home and School Visitor Wilkinsburg, PA Created and implemented procedural policies to correct chronic absenteeism and truancy for secondary students 6-12 th grade. Advised faculty and staff in a cross-cutting technique to aid students in making up lost instructional time and in improving academic success through the implementation of Saturday School known as Initiated Truancy Elimination Plan (ITEP). Family Links Inc: Youth and Family Specialist Provided clinical leadership and assisted as a secondary therapeutic support staff for adolescent youth 16 to 21years old aging out of Children Youth and Family Services. 6 Curriculum Vitae 6 Professional Service Emergency Department (ED) Diversion Team: UPMC General Internal Medicine 2013 Helped implement a diversion plan for Severe Mentally Ill (SMI) patients who misused emergency rooms for acute mental illness/mania and chronic conditions crises that can be otherwise resolved in their Primary Care Physician (PCP) office. Chronic Disease Management: UPMC General Internal Medicine Dept Provided social work support to physicians and other healthcare professionals in efforts to help them better manage Hypertensive (HTN), Diabetic (DM) and Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) patients in the General Internal Medicine Department. Team Management of Chronic Medical Conditions (TMCMC): UPMC Assist 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th year Residents with their patient panel to improve compliance in medical management and resolution of psychosocial barriers that prevents patient engagement. Awards Commonwealth Health Equity Scholarship: October 2013 The Health Equality Scholarship is a merit-based monetary award given to students in the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School Public Health.
