2 About TBCC Contact TBCC The Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition (TBCC), established in 1995, is a grassroots organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Our mission is to be the foremost advocate for Tennesseans facing breast cancer through individual assistance, education, and legislative action. The goal of TBCC is to Celebrate Life! At the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition, we are passionate about improving the quality of life for those men and women undergoing breast cancer treatment in the state of Tennessee. We enjoy working with others who share the same passion and dedication to this cause. Cheryl A. Esplin Individual Assistance Through the Emergency Access Fund The Emergency Access Fund (EAF) is our primary community outreach program. The EAF was implemented in 2002 to provide financial assistance to women and men undergoing breast cancer treatments. Applicants must meet set requirements in order to qualify for financial assistance. TBCC pays the bills directly; money is not given to the applicant. The EAF provides assistance with rent and mortgage payments, utilities, insurance premiums, and medical expenses. TBCC recognizes that a diagnosis of breast cancer is a life-threatening challenge. Our ultimate objective for the EAF is to enable breast cancer patients to avoid a traumatic financial crisis during a time in which their highest priority should healing.

5 External Events More About the EAF We are actively searching for individuals or companies to host their own external fundraisers for our organization. These events can be held at any time of the year. At the hospital she received more crushing news - breast cancer. In August Kathleen underwent a lumpectomy and started radiation in October. She will have follow up apointments in Decemeber to determine whether chemo will be needed. Kathleen is forced to work part time, 20 hours a week at $15 an hour. Her annual income is less than $16,000. She can t keep up with treatment, a mortgage, and utlities. TBCC assisted Kathleen with $1,000 towards her mortgage and electric bills! Did You Know? Through the Emergency Access Fund, a donation of: $25 pays a Water bill $50 pays a Home Phone bill $75 pays a Gas bill $100 pays an Electric bill (on average) Your donation enables us to continue helping men and women like Kathleen every day!
