3 FACULTY Greg Adams, LCSW, ACSW, FT has been the program coordinator at the Center for Good Mourning, a grief support and outreach program of Arkansas Children s Hospital (ACH), since He also provides bereavement support to ACH staff and was previously the director of palliative care at ACH. Greg is an adjunct professor in the graduate school of social work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is a Fellow in Thanatology through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). He has experience in pediatric oncology social work, having been named Social Worker of the Year by the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Work in 2001, and also has experience in a mental health setting and the Veterans Affairs in Waco, TX. His master s degree in social work is from the University of Missouri Columbia and his bachelor s degree is from Baylor University. He was recently named Baylor University Garland School of Social Work Alumnus of the Year in Greg is married with two children: a 24 year-old daughter and a 20 year-old son. Mary Horne, LCSW, CYT-500 (Certified Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level) has been engaged in the study and practice of health, healing and yoga for over two decades. She currently serves veterans suffering with the effects of post-traumatic stress as a therapist at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). She has been able to bring her knowledge and experience of mindfulness and yoga both to individual veterans and to the CAVHS through her role as co-chair and content specialist for the mindfulness and motion subcommittee, part of the CAVHS Whole Health Initiative. In this role, she has developed and implemented trainings for health care professionals such as doctors, nurses, nutritionists and front-line staff in the service of integrating mindfulness and mindful movement into standard care at the CAVHS. She has created interventions for veterans with PTSD and chronic pain using pranayama, asana and soft-tissue work combined with psychotherapy. Mary is a staff member in the newly created Professional Yoga Therapist Training Program at Circle Yoga Shala in Jasper, AR and developed program content related to mental health, psychology and spirituality. She is an experienced Acceptance and Commitment Therapy therapist and is trained and certified in cognitive processing therapy, prolonged exposure therapy and EMDR, the three evidence-based therapies for PTSD. David E. Smith, MD practiced cardiology for 35 years before starting supportive (palliative) medicine at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock where he is the director. Having grown up in Ashdown, he returned to his rural roots with cardiology clinics in Malvern and Stuttgart for many years. He is a graduate of Harding University and received his medical training at the University of Missouri-Columbia. David is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and palliative medicine and has a MA in bioethics from Trinity International University. He has taught pre-med/science majors bioethics at Harding University for almost two decades, and he has also served as ethics consultant and chaired the medical ethics committee at Baptist Health. He currently serves as chairman of the Arkansas Physician Order for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) coalition. David is a founder and chairman of Haiti Christian Development Project Gonaives, visiting several times each year to promote primary health care and multiple projects as well as annually leading large workgroup of trainees and professionals. He loves mountain biking, boating and skiing. Annette Woodruff, LCSW received her masters of social work in 1995 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). She has had a varied and distinguished career to include: primary care integrated mental health at CAVHS, acute inpatient psychiatric care, ACT 911 compliance monitor, practicum coordinator/assistant professor at Philander Smith College, local program manager/case consultant-tea Grant with UALR, multiple areas of supervisory responsibilities throughout the Department of Health Services and children and family services programs. She continues to represent the social work field through lectures, multiple day trainings and teaching courses at various venues, colleges/universities and the national association of social workers conferences. Annette has authored and coauthored publications addressing mass trauma events to include: Effective Mental Health Response to Catastrophic Events: Lessons Learned from Katrina; Bioterrorism and Mental Health First Responders: Training Manual; Mental Health Responders and Pandemic Events: Training Manual; and Mental Health First Responders and Catastrophic Events: Training Manual.

CONTINUING EDUCATION All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance for clock hours. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY If cancellations are received in writing after October 27, 2017, 50% of the registration fee is refundable. Registrants who cancel the day of the program, or fail to attend, must pay the entire registration fee. Registrants unable to attend may send an alternate. If the alternate is not a member, the non-member registration fee will be applied. DRESS CODE Remember that it is hard to find a comfortable temperature for everyone in the room; please bring a sweater/ jacket in case the room is too cool for your comfort.
