TurningPoint offers a uniquely integrated approach to comprehensive and compassionate rehabilitation and support for breast cancer patients and survivors throughout metro Atlanta and Georgia. Since its inception in 2003, TurningPoint s patient-centered care has helped more than 3,700 women manage the effects of treatment and get back to doing the things that they love most. This year an estimated 7,800 women in Georgia will hear the words you have breast cancer and their lives will be forever changed, as mine was in I didn t know about TurningPoint during my recovery, but I really wish I had! That s why I m supporting the organization now. More women need access to the care and community TurningPoint provides, and TurningPoint needs to be able to grow so they can continue serving more women. 4 About TurningPoint One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There are significant physical and emotional side effects of breast cancer and its treatment that often go unrecognized. Rehabilitation can reduce or prevent these issues, but most women in the U.S. do not receive this care! The Pink Affair hosts over 350 attendees each year and features excellent food, entertainment and an outstanding auction that raises funds for TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. Net proceeds support TurningPoint s financial assistance program and complimentary services for breast cancer patients. TurningPoint fills this gap by providing specialized physical therapy, exercise, massage therapy, counseling, nutrition and education programs. Patients and their families are supported through their breast cancer journey by compassionate, specialized clinicians. TurningPoint was founded in 2003 and has since served over 3,700 breast cancer patients and survivors. This year, we expect to serve more than 650 patients, approximately 62% of whom are newly diagnosed. TurningPoint provides reduced fee and complimentary services, including monthly patient education programs, support for patients with metastatic breast cancer, weekly exercise classes, counseling and nutrition. Thanks to support from local foundations, community fundraisers and donors, nearly half of our patients receive financial assistance. TurningPoint is the only organization of its kind in the southeast.
