2 I am indeed happy to on record the activities of Human Welfare Trust for the Financial Year Among many hurdles Human Welfare Trust was successful to complete the year s service. It gives a pleasure to look back the activities of Human Welfare Trust and record its meritorious volume of work in this Annual Report. The successful completion of this Financial Year in the life of Human Welfare Trust was made easy through the active participation of our partner agencies. I take this opportunity to thank each and every one who contributed to fulfill the goals set Human Welfare Trust in this financial year. I believe continued support in the forthcoming years will bring in more development insights among the marginalized rural and urban communities living around. I on behalf of all the trustees take this opportunity to thank every partner and look forward to our continued participation in the future too. 3 Human Welfare trust was started in 2005 in Tamilnadu and was formally registered in It started its activities with a health awareness programme, non-formal education and vocational training center for women. Over the years, we focus has been on the development of poor and marginalized women, adolescents and children for their betterment of health and hygienic. Its activities have diversified in the fields of health, women s literacy, formal school education, nonformal education, rural employment, income generating skills, SHG formation, community health and awareness programmes on various social issues. The NGO is working in rural as well as urban areas of Thiruchirappali, Chennai and Kancheepuram district. Human Welfare Trust has received support from several donor organizations as well as from individuals. Its entire program has been supported by sponsorships and from a network of individual supporters. Mission To evolve a strong, sustainable programme to improve the standard of living and to provide the necessary health care and education facilities to the weaker section of the society. Major Activities Skill Training programme Health Camp Tuition and Spoken English Training School Sanitation Celebration of World Important Days Republic Day Celebration Distribution of school uniform Relief Vardha Cyclone

4 Objective of the organization To run a Working Women Hostel, Home for the aged, Orphanages, Day Care Centres to help the poor. To carryout AIDS Awareness programme and to obtain grant from Government and other agencies for the above programme. To do Rehabilitation Programme for the drug addicts and alcoholics. To inculcate the habit of Blood Donation, Eye Donation and Human Body Organs donations by conducting awareness camps To provide rehabilitation services in the time of natural calamities viz. earth quakes, flood, cyclone and Tsunami. To grant Scholarships to deserving Students for their education and other needs To support Sports and Games activities and take efforts to promote good sportsmen. To organize Cultural Programme in Rural and Urban areas depicting various social issues To undertake income generating activities for the self-sufficiency of the Trust by promoting Self Help Groups among all poor People. To enable the economic development of the people by imparting vocational and self employment training to them and encourage them to be independent by disbursing loans for self employment schemes. To work for the Development of Wasteland Programmes. To prevent the incidence of drop-outs through sponsorship programme for education of children and educate the existing drop-outs through non formal education and continuing education To Provide Guidance, Technical Help and Training in Development Communication to promote more community Development Projects

5 Main Activities. SKILL TRAINING PROGRAMME Several trainings were conducted in our Trust to upgrade quality based skill Training programme for the youth especially unemployed youth. The main objective of the programme id to train unemployed and underemployed youth with employable skill sets to start their own business. We have distributed the pamphlets to the nearest areas in order to mobilize the population. We have conducted the following skill Training under this programme They are : Beauty parlour Training Call centre Training Computer Training Driving Training Food processing Training Mobile repairing Training Plumbing Training Paper cubs / plates making Training Tailoring Training Two wheeler Training Welding and filter Training Web designing They were also trained to use the updated educational software and latest knowledge about the particular training. Training were also organized to upgrade the hardware skills and MIS skills of the Computer. Women were given more important, they were trained under tailoring, call centre and food processing etc. We had tie up the local financial company to arrange group loan for the women The core objective of the trainings has been to teach how we self sustain to learn such kind of Training programme.

6 HEALTH CAMP Health Care programs leave a significant impact in terms of providing better health care to the marginalized sections of our society, especially children and women. We have conducted Health camp with following objectives and activities To bring affordable healthcare and free health information to the community and identify the common healthy problems of the community in order to addressing them, in partnership with Healthcare Centre.. Specifically, the medical camp sought to provide both preventive and curative treatment for common conditions in the community. To create awareness on the need for personal hygiene in prevention of serious disabling diseases To refer those who require specialized treatment to the relevant centre. To create awareness on our Trust activities to the community. A series of medical health check up camp for our valuable people were organised with collaboration of Health centre.the team member of hospital were participated.free physical examination were done along with free blood sugar, Blood pressure were provided by the hospital. Free Medicines were distributed to all. The doctor told me that she will do free consultation for the women who we refer. The beneficiaries were very happy and encourage us to conduct more such camps. We also thank our team members for their efforts to making the camp successful. We all planed to have more such camps in future with proper intervals. The medical camp provided opportunities to us to give extend our trust services to the community. TUITION AND SPOKEN ENGLISH TRAINING Tuition programme was conducted for school going children at free of cost. Many of the children's parents are working more or less uneducated, so these were our target. Education to the children through 'Tuition and special spoken English based Learning Method which helps students learn faster. We have given chances for the educated women to handle these class, so that they were also get an employment opportunities. SCHOOL SANITATION Sanitation is important for all, helping to maintain health and increase life-spans. However, it is especially important for children. Our team helps villages identify hygiene practices in need of improvement, and helps create a plan to move forward. We have seen how improved hygiene practices can help extend the impact of clean water. Many people know the importance of clean

7 water and basic sanitation for health. yet, hardly think of what not having these amenities means for schools and education. In many schools in rural areas, school are functioning without proper toilet for the students. We have visited government school in order to create awareness porgramme of health and sanitation among school teachers and students. The program believes that improved sanitation and the provision of other basic amenities will make schools and students happier, healthier, and more active. CELEBRATION OF WORLD IMPORTANCE DAY May Day Celebration HWT has celebrated World Labour Day in school, with an aim to generate awareness amongst the students regarding Dignity of Labour.The primary students of the school staged a skit to enlighten the importance of different kind of labour jobs in day to day life. The message behind that we should give respect for all the occupations amongst the students. National Voter Day Celebration We celebrated National Voters Day, with motive to encourage youngsters to enrolling or registering themselves in electoral rolls and to educate those to aware voters of their rights and to increase the voter turnout during elections. World No Tobacco Day HWT organized awareness campaign among the youth and schools, to create awareness about the impact of usage of Tobacco. A rally, slogan-writing competitions were conducted for the students of primary and middle section. A documentary film was also shown to the students to make them aware of the ill-effects of tobacco on health. World Population Day HWT organised World Population day with theme of EMPOERING PEOPLE, DEVLOPING NATIONS. We have invited Special quest to deliver the message like Explain about world population, Population India 2017,Women responsibility Role of women in the society. World Environment Day World Environment Day was celebrated to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet earth. We have motivated the participants to practice the behaviour of preservation of environment by changing their habits for example, using bicycles in short distances, using public transport for the daily commute to the offices, reducing food waste, saving energy at home and offices by switching of lights and ACs when not in use, including using water efficiently. World Consumer Day

8 HWT have conducted consumer rights day to create knowledge on consumer rights and the problems of consumerism and its impact on the environment is an area of major concern in today s world. Specially we have explained the upcoming GST and its importance and uses. World AIDS Day HWT has observed World AIDS day with theme for this year is; Hands up for Prevention. It is an opportunity for every community to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died. We believes that the future generation has the ability to sensitize others and prevent spread of HIV. We have organise awareness programme to emphasized on HIV transmission, staging, stigma, prevention, treatment, and role of Public in overcoming stigma and discrimination. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION School principal welcomed the chief guest, distinguished guests, invitees and parents. The chief guest said on the occasion that students should be brave and face all the challenges with courage. She asked all the students to be responsible so that they can perform their role as good citizens. the importance of education and the role of teachers in molding the young minds, preparing them to lead the country towards development The celebration continued with song and dance competitions and speeches that reminded the students of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. SCHOOL UNIFORM We had distributed school uniforms and note books to the needy school students is our regular programme in every year About 700 students benefited under the program. As we distributed to primary and middle school poor students, we extended the services to high and higher secondary school students. VARDHA CYCLONE RELIEF During cyclone, we had been to affected areas to help the people who have been affected. have also help them to provide food, cloth immediately. Also help the official to clear the fallen trees to road. Provided the provision for the affected people. Donors and supporters: Well-wishers of Human Welfare Trust are the great asset. Their contributions have kept our trust going steadily though there have been no specific funding support. People have contributed

9 simultaneously for the growth and maintenance of Human Welfare trust to a greater extent through their valuable time and kind. Human Welfare trust s effort towards sustainability is strengthened through this support. Peoples participation: People s participation has always been the strength to Human Welfare Trust. Many volunteers like women and youths work for our trust in its effort. Villagers cooperation is the support to the organization. He have been blessed with good volunteers an supporters. Future dream: Establishing a Free residential school for the poor and needy children is our major future plan. We will be doing ground work with supports of volunteers and well-wishers to achieve the future goal. Acknowledgment We gratefully acknowledge the contributions of many in the activities of our organization. Our sincere thanks extended to all our friends and well wishers and supports because of it only we could able to travel further towards our vision.
