KidsXpress launched a world first approach to early intervention trauma therapy uniquely combining modalities of expressive therapy including music, art, drama, dance and play therapy. Through this innovative program KidsXpress supports children that are living with the impacts of trauma such as grief, loss, neglect, and physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Over 10 years KidsXpress has grown to support more than 2500 vulnerable children and become a leader in the field of expresive therapy. KidsXpress mission is to transform the lives of children impacted by trauma. We hope to create generational change by inspiring children to thrive and, through sharing our knowledge of trauma-informed care to support families, schools and communities to better manage and minimise the impact of childhood trauma. thank you! 4 Here s a simple checklist to help your event get started! the game changing checklist! A few weeks before During After Select your upcoming celebration Register your event Make sure to explain your motivation Set your Fundraising Target Share your fundraising page link in your s, your invites and post all over your social media pages Send out your invites Give everyone plenty of notice. We ve included a sample on the next page or print out your own and hand them out Chase those RSVPs Remind and follow up those slow pokes! Anyone who can t make it, can still donate to your page, make sure you remind them there s no excuse Include some exciting ways to donate Offer envelopes where people can insert a note and leave you a special celebration message. Wedding wishing wells are another great option. Or a decorated shoe box at your birthday party Take photos and share Take videos and share via social media so we can see them, share them and like them! Your amazing efforts will hopefully inspire others Enjoy Take a moment to enjoy your family and friends on the day. You re doing such an amazing thing for KidsXpress and it s nice to be able to enjoy your hard planning up to the day. Plus how de-cluttered to you feel? You deserve it! Donating the funds Once you ve gathered all your donations and chased those last few slow pokes who ve promised to donate, it s time to bank the money. Instead of gifts I was hoping as part of my celebration, we could support KidsXpress, which is a charity I m extremely passionate about due to their incredible work supporting vulnerable children. This cause is very close to my heart and would mean the world to me. KidsXpress is all about helping vulnerable children to learn how to use their own creativity and imagination as tools to express their feelings, learn about themselves and support their mental health and wellbeing. I ve been lucky enough to have been given a lot of wonderful things over 50 years. This year, instead of the usual gifts and fanfare I wanted to give a child that s growing up scared, frightened, unloved or alone the opportunity to have their lives transformed by accessing KidsXpress amazing expressive therapy program. Through your generosity, I m hoping we can collectively raise $1000 (but more is totally fine!). Every dollar will be donated to this amazing organisation, helping to fund the paint, crayons, glitter, clay and cloth which helps a scared, angry or heartbroken child to describe and process the pain they ve been experiencing. Please donate whatever amount you re comfortable with, every dollar counts. 6 Expressive therapy for children $30 $250 Can buy an expression kit for a child, supporting their wellbeing and creativity post-program $75 Can fund the instruments, art supplies and other matterials used to support one child through our program Can pay for the travel costs to reach vulnerable children throughout Sydney $600 $2,500 Can transform the life of a child by funding their placement through our entire program Can fund 10 parents or carers through a training course to support their child post-program $15,000 $5,000 Can provide clinical placement and supervision for a tertiary Expressive Therapy student. $12,000 Can transform the lives of vulnerable children by funding an entire KidsXpress program. Can fund an Expressive Therapist who sees 24 children over a school term.
