1 To Whom It May Concern: West Coast Conference On behalf of the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Student Association (ITASA), I would like to invite you to become a sponsor of West Coast Conference at UC Berkeley on April 7-9, For over a decade, ITASA has brought together thousands of students across the nation to celebrate the Taiwanese American identity and inspire the surrounding community. This year, our team is proud to bring the West Coast Conference back to UC Berkeley for the first time since its founding in Over three hundred college students from schools all over the west coast, including Stanford, UCLA, UCSD, USC, University of Oregon, Seattle University, and others will be in attendance. The 2011 conference, themed Next Stop: Taiwan, invites Taiwanese American students to explore their identity through series of top-quality events and hands-on activities. "Next Stop: Taiwan" alludes to our vision of inspiring the future generation of Taiwanese American leaders to strengthen their ties and understanding of their unique heritage. The conference will be a forum for Taiwanese American students to discuss, explore, and learn what it means to be a Taiwanese American today and what the future has in store for them. This forum will encourage college students to strengthen their bonds with the Taiwanese American community. The conference will not only allow you to demonstrate interest in the Asian American community and take an active stance in supporting diversity, but also an excellent way to enhance your reputation among students from top-tier universities. Your generous contribution will help ensure the success of the 2011 West Coast Conference. You can participate at various sponsorship levels, and we welcome both monetary and in-kind donations. 2 Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association Is a: A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that Empowers, inspires, and activates the Taiwanese American community especially college students, and Inspires participants to think and explore Taiwanese American identity Place to celebrate our unique culture through promoting culture specific events. Each year, passionate student leaders recruit a group of students to host the conference at their school. Past host institutions of ITASA West Coast Conference have been UCLA (2006), Stanford (2007), USC (2009), UCSD (2010). Every year the West Coast Conference attracts over 150 Taiwanese American students from all over the west coast. April 7 th - 9 th, 2011, UC Berkeley will be hosting our 2 nd ever West Coast Conference, after last hosting in Our aim in ITASA conference back to Berkeley is to attract over 300 students, reaching out to schools not just in California, but also Oregon and Seattle, as well as hosting one of the most successful conferences.

3 Your role is critical. In order to host a successful and memorable conference, lots of resources are needed. Our team will contribute time, effort, and energy to build an amazing conference, and we hope you can contribute in any way you can to support our efforts. This conference will cost approximately $20,000, with most of the funds applied toward honorarium to invite inspirational Taiwanese American speakers and professionals. Speakers and facilitators will use this opportunity to examine various aspects of being a Taiwanese American, answering important life questions: where did we come from, how did we get here, and where are we going next.
