4 Lewsey Children s Centre and Nursery: what we offer DIDDY DANCERS MONDAY (please contact the Children Centre for dates) Our Family Worker runs the group and will take you and your children on a journey where music, story and movement will be explored. The group promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages children to use language to describe their experiences and how their bodies are moving. This is a fun activity where children are encouraged to express themselves through physical activity. Opportunities are given to parent to borrow C.D s so they can enjoy new activities at home. STAY AND PLAY GROUP MONDAY am (TERM TIME ONLY) Come along and let your babies and children explore a variety of stimulating activities. Our group is well resourced with a wide variety of equipment. The Early Years Foundation Stage provides us with the framework that enables us to offer the best opportunities for you and your child s learning. Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to join in the fun. We are fortunate to have the support of partners who are available to offer information to parents throughout the year. Healthy snacks are provided followed by song time with opportunities for outside play. TIME OUT FOR PARENTS TUESDAY (please contact Children Centre for next course) The five week parenting course is facilitated by our Family Worker and the Children s Centre Outreach worker. The aim of the course is to increase your confidence as a parent, develop your relationship with your child and help prevent behaviour problems developing. We share ideas on developing emotional security and raising self esteem. Learn how to manage common behaviour problems, discuss safety issues and encourage mutual support whilst making new friends. We acknowledge that children are all different and unique; attending this course may give you the confidence in trying new techniques and become a confident parent. BABY CLINIC TUESDAYS PM This clinic is facilitated by NHS Health visitors. Parents and carers may access the Health visitors for advice and guidance, to talk over any worries or problems and to have children weighed and measured. Please bring your red book with you. No appointment necessary. 6 7

7 Parents say: Karen Stevens, mother to Jack aged three. Staff are absolutely superb, Jack now feels that this is his second family. I feel that my peace of mind knowing he is in safe hands. Thank you all! Simon, father to twin three year old girls Anya and Maya. It s been very good, it was nice to see where my girls play during the week as I work away and don t get to see it very often, especially since they moved to the 2-5 s room. Emmi O Connell, mother of two children currently attending our Centre, Eilish four, and Harry one. Emmi is also on our Parents Committee. Mike, father to Clem aged three. Gives Dad s a way of chatting and sharing with others, maybe next Diwali we could have fireworks? The Centre is efficient and flexible, both of my children are happy and love coming to nursery. I always feel secure when leaving the children that they are happy and content.
