CDC s Efforts 1. Evidence-based Strategies for Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence Perpetration 11

2. A comprehensive prevention plan to address sexual violence

CDC s Efforts (cont.) 3. CDC s Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Program Scan Over 125 college and university campuses are affiliated with the RPE program across the U.S. Promising SV prevention strategies (e.g., Bystander programs) are being implemented on numerous campuses. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) appear to be underserved with only two represented here, out of the existing 105 HBCUs in the U.S. Opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, networking, and shared resources (including faculty expertise) exist across colleges and universities. 13

The White House Charge to CDC (cont.) Think Tank Meeting (Spring 2015) will convene campus staff, prevention practitioners, researchers, and other SV experts to explore the state of the evidence, and campus structures and environments in order to develop comprehensive sexual violence prevention guidance for college and university campuses. Action Planning Meeting (Summer 2015) - will bring together teams of state CDC Rape Prevention and Education Program grantees and campus partners to develop action plans based on guidelines produced from the Think Tank meeting. 15

Other CDC Projects The Task Force to Address Sexual Violence on Historically Black College and University Campuses 16
