1 East Carolina University Residence Hall Association General Assembly Agenda January 26 th, 2016 Call to Order at 5:05 Roll Call Guest Speakers Approval of the Minutes Motioned by Clement, seconded by CHS Officer Reports President Jonathan McDougle I don t have much. But we re going to hold Committee Breakouts every 3 rd week of each month Your E-Board member will remind you about those. From the president s committee we are having an event. We are doing something on March 31st Vice President Emily Annunziata Thanks for bringing in all the shoes RHA Week! Monday: Human Battleship 6:30 Tuesday: Underground 6pm Wednesday: Puppy Love 12pm Thursday: SHOES: 11pm Feb 5 th sign up for Siblings Weekend Siblings Weekend is in April Positive Post-It Notes: We want two people per hall to sign up and get up early and put up these sticky notes in your halls Will happen at 5am/6am This will happen the same day as SHOES
2 You can me if you have any more questions A separate group of people will be doing it around main campus We need at least one boy and girl We need to have your shoes by feb 1 st Waz: Other people can write cards the day of so we ll still use your shoes if you turn it in later CFJ: Where is the humane society? It s on the brick yard. Parliamentarian Molly Haugh Marketing Manager - NCC Peter Soares If you re in the NCARH delegation please stand up Here s another chance to get spirit points We re e-cycling ( recycling old electronics) 50 points for the first 5, then 5 points for each CHS: Do they have to work? Nah, we just want to recycle them. Jones: When is that due? The week before the conference and that s feb 19 th. Business Manager Rachel Eker I ll you all about the specific little things me at RHAbusinessmanager@ecu.edu if you want to be on the list I want to encourage all of you to apply for funds It s almost February of the second semester and we ve only given out $800 of our $10,000 You can talk to me if you have any questions about how to put in a funding requests The worst we can say is no I ll have spirit points for next week thanks for bringing in all the shoes Jonathan: How did you like the newsletter? 3 We re having our first event of the semester You re all invited We re having good food We re having an OTM party, come and submit OTM at our OTM Party. Feb 4 th 6-8pm Mendenhall Room 14 You can come and go NRHH s first meeting will be this Thursday in Mendenhall Jonathan: Open floor and Hall happenings can lead to an OTM Elections NCC: Morgan Scott: you do a lot so how can you made time for RHA? I m actually not too involved its all like side stuff so everything else I do is show up if you can. GE: Will you be able to juggle using social medias? I still plan to be apart of CFJ and I love social media. Jones: How do you plan on getting people involved? If you tell people what you want to accomplish then they ll be more interested in doing it. 71: long-range objective? I want to learn more about the position. I would form those long-range objectives once I get into the position. CFJ: Would you be opposed to winning an award? Of course not NCC: do you have any ideas on how to get people more involved in OTM? I don t think I m involved in that. I m not sure. CHS: In your own words what do you think NCC does? We go to conferences and we re in charge of delegations. We also write bids. Scotts: do you think you can pick the best applicant? I think if I interview applications and I can see why they wanna do it. I can see that they re real with me. Probably based on the best interviews. Motioned by NCC, seconded by CHS Discussion
4 NCC: I think that her presentation was impressive because of her abilities of communication. CFJ: I feel like once she goes through training she ll understand more Scott; She was confident GE: She demonstrated passion and leadership. CFJ: She let people know about her during her presentation Scott: I felt like she was prepared Tyler: I think she has good qualifications Motioned by CHS, seconded by Fletcher PRO, CON PRO: she was very well spoke CON: She focused on social media and that s not her job role PRO: Confident in leadership CON: She hasn t had a leadership position PRO: She was passionate CON: She s never been to a conference PRO: grasp of what she wants to do PRO: she has good time management PRO: She didn t seem nervous and she seems outgoing YES OR NO OR ABSTAIN Voting: Morgan is our NCC Coordinator s Corner: Brian: Relay For Life should be a NRHH and RHA thing. We ve done it like that in the past and we can work together.
