1 May, 2018 Come and join us for our third annual final Chapter Meeting, Networking Luncheon and Mini Product Show All tabletop sponsors from this year are invited back for this month s luncheon If you are a vendor, supplier, or product representative that was not a tabletop presenter to our group this year, this is a great opportunity for you to meet everyone and show us what is new in your product line. We will also take this opportunity to recognize members anniversaries, acknowledge new members and our Herald R. Holding Scholarship recipients Just as we did last year, food will be set up hors d oeurvres style and everyone will circulate through the room rather than a typical sit down style lunch. This year, PPCSI will have a table for members and guests to learn more about the advantages of CSI membership, and to assist anyone with training on our new website. 2 2 Pikes Peak Chapter of CSI is the paramount chapter out of all of them. We reach out and help each other and our knowledge is vast and exceptional. I knew this before serving as president and now it has been instilled in me. Every member should be proud to be part of this organization. It was been a prodigious year serving as your president. I can t believe that it is almost over. Looking back over the year, we have accomplished so much and yet there is still more to complete. Our incoming president, Manny Mungaray, will carry the touch that we have kept burning over the years. His enthusiasm is contagious and he will be bringing new ideas to our chapter. If you haven t meet Manny yet, I suggest saying hi to him at this month s networking event! Speaking of this month s networking event, we have many tables already filled and have only a few left. If you are interested in having a table for the Mini-Product show please reach out to Joni Zimmerman at jzimmerman@tk-architecture.com. Also, if you haven t signed up yet please do so soon. We are finalizing our food selection and getting an accurate head count is always important. Please invite everyone you know as this year end event is FREE for all to attend. We are going to have some great product rep s presenting some cutting edge products. You don t want to miss out as everyone will be talking about this event around the water cooler. Please note that we will be accepting donations for Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado at this month s event! We want to help with Care and Share s belief- No one should go hungry. 4 4 Thinking about taking the CDT? Have you been thinking about taking the CDT? CSI offers all certification exams twice a year Spring and Fall. Registration for the Fall exams starts June 26, with exam dates starting September 25. Our chapter will once again be offering CDT study sessions to our members at no cost. We will offer ten weekly sessions that last approximately two hours each. We will plan to start our study sessions mid-august to allow sufficient time before the exam dates in September. Starting on July 1, 2018, the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) program will transition from a certificate to a professional certification. CSI has embarked upon a strategy to transition the CDT to a certification because supporting your professional success is our primary reason for being. This initiative will increase the value of this credential to you and to the industry at large. Your CDT credential is an important professional accomplishment and our goal is to hold it up as a gold standard of certification. For more information or to register for this or any other CSI Certification exam, please go to NEED AIA or CES Learning Units? Have you heard of The Continuing Architect? Need AIA or CES Learning Units (LU & HSW) to maintain your accreditation? Look no further. The Continuing Architect has weekly Streaming Video seminars, courses, and presentations for members to obtain required credits for maintaining their accreditation. Topics vary across the construction industry in all trades. Not only can these credits be used for AIA credit management, but also for the CSI CCCA, CCPR, and CCS certifications.
