2 What is InterPride? InterPride is the International Association of Pride Organizers. Our members produce Pride events around the world for people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex (LGBTI) as well as other emerging sexual identities. Pride events may include a parade, march, rally, festival, arts festival, cultural activity, or event for our community. InterPride unites Pride globally. Our members are dedicated volunteers who organize and work to produce Pride events all over the world. InterPride is a shared wealth of knowledge available to all to inspire and promote community interaction for Pride events worldwide. We promote Pride on an international level through increase of networking opportunities and communication among Pride organizations. 4 Conferences InterPride holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Conference. Held in October each year, it provides attendees the opportunity to network with other Pride organizers and to attend workshops and seminars to improve leadership skills, event management and organizational strength. The AGM and World Conference is designed for the specific needs of Pride organizers. In addition to the AGM and World Conference, there are Regional Conferences held throughout the year across the globe. These are smaller, more localized versions of the international conference offering further educational and networking opportunities. Conference attendees who represent InterPride member organizations receive reduced registration rates to regional and international conferences. Scholarships may be available to qualifying representatives of member organizations to both regional and international conferences. Global Pride Calendar and Web Link InterPride publicizes all Pride events on the Global Pride Calendar, regardless of the membership status of the producing organization. However, only member organizations enjoy a link from the Global Calendar to drive web traffic to member websites. Insurance Discount (US Only) InterPride has a block policy with Casswood Insurance, which allows its member organizations in the US to qualify for substantial discounts on insurance. In many cases, the discount may be greater than the organization s InterPride membership dues. Event Ticketing Solution Discount ShowClix and InterPride have partnered to provide quick and easy access to member events while providing an opportunity to make direct donations at the same time. Imagine an internet-savvy consumer who has the convenience of going online to get their tickets for your event! They do not need cash or a check/cheque on the day of the event for their donation, and they can even round up the cost to make a direct donation to the Member group! The day of the event, pre-paid attendees stream through your gates and you know exactly how many people are there. The App is fully customizable and attendees may even purchase their tickets via Facebook from an installed App on your page. Large or small, this solution fits all and it s our partnerships that extend our reach and keep us strong. PRIDE Magazine The PRIDE Magazine is the official magazine of InterPride and features InterPride s Global Calendar, a listing of Pride events around the world and their dates. 5 Printing (US & Canada Only) InterPride members receive a 10% discount on their printing needs from psprint.com - including, full color/colour flyers, brochures, business cards, postcards, and more (does not apply to items already discounted). Vinyl Banners (US & Canada Only) Wholesalebannersonline.com offers discounted prices on Vinyl Banners ($1.25 per square foot) for InterPride member organizations. Networking & Support InterPride encourages member organizations to Twin with each other for mentoring and mutual support. Twinning can consist of simple cooperative promotion or as far reaching as sharing entertainment and sponsorship contacts. Networking opportunities arise as the groups share what they are doing. InterPride Board members and regional directors coordinate contacts between organizations to solve specific problems. Resources InterPride resources include entertainment, exhibitor and supplier resource databases. In addition, InterPride maintains a library of time-saving resources. A variety of materials, including samples of by-laws, march/parade applications and event registrations are among the valuable documents available to members. Pride organizers may use these documents and adapt them to suit their needs. There is even a sponsorship strategy resource pack, consisting of a variety of examples of the materials sent to potential sponsors by other Pride organizations who have successful sponsorship programs. Member Services works to match Pride organizers with members to provide expert advice on an array of subjects. InterPride continues to develop our database of exhibitors, available by country and region, including ratings by other member organizations. InterPride members have access to a database of entertainers and speakers and a vendor database to assist in finding suppliers for Rainbow Flags, t-shirts and all things necessary to produce a Pride event. Information is available by country and region. InterPride s relationship with member organizations is one of advice, guidance and assistance when requested. 6 Membership Frequently Asked Questions What does the membership fee cover? Members qualify for discounted conference registration fees for both the InterPride AGM and World Conference and Regional Conferences Access to members-only content: Pride document library; members-only website; Pride organizing assistance & equipment resources. Select member discounts and benefits: members qualify for a number of discounted products and services from our partners, ranging from event and board insurance, to printing and event ticketing. Who has access? Member(s) of your organization you select. How is the service accessed? Online resources are available any time via InterPride.org communication to vpms@interpride.org Schedule a Skype or phone call with a member of the Member Services Committee. What are the obligations of membership? Members are encouraged to participate, vote and contribute whether newly joined or experienced, but there are no minimum requirements. May I vote during meetings? Member organizations in good standing (membership dues paid and current) may vote. Will InterPride sell our name and profile information to vendors? All information given to InterPride is held in the strictest confidence and will never be sold. How may we become Members? 7 What Our Members are Saying Our Pride was considering adding a festival to our Pride celebration. Input from other members of InterPride was invaluable to us as we planned and held our first PrideFest. We were able to avoid some unforeseen pitfalls and ended up having a fantastic event. Over the years, InterPride has given us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Being exposed to new perspectives has allowed us to make our events more welcoming and diverse.
