3 About Do something remarkable, become a Superhero on the 15th May! Radio City s Cash for Kids have teamed up with Alder Hey Hospital for our Superhero Day Campaign. Our aim is to raise as much money for Alder Hey and turn it into a Super Hospital for our little Superheroes! Alder Hey Children s Hospital not only cares for our local children but also families right across the UK. The NHS is in the process of building them a fantastic new hospital which opens this September, however it is the Alder Hey Children s Charity that raises the money to fund the lifesaving equipment and vital research which will transform a new NHS hospital into a world-class facility for our children in Merseyside and from right across the UK. Sign up your nursery, school, college, university, business or place of work, dust off your superhero outfit and join in! This is your chance to step up for Cash for Kids and support one of our biggest fund raising campaigns ever! Reveal the superhero in you and make a real difference. Let us know how you re going to be involved and get fundraising today! Are you running a superhero dress up day at your nursery or school? Are you locking your boss up? Holding a super quiz or a onesie day or running a superhero dress up day? Maybe doing a challenge and getting sponsored by your family and friends? Then let us know! The wackier your idea, the better and no contribution is too small if we all work together we can make a huge difference! Your activity can take place any time but ideally between the 11th and 15th May. We might even be able to come and see you! Don t forget that every penny raised locally stays locally, so you can be sure that your support will directly benefit a local child with a minimum of 80p from every pound donated going to the children.

4 Alder Hey is building an amazing new children s hospital in a park - it will be unique in Europe and opens in September this year! It will have; Life-saving medical equipment like the very latest operating theatre technology and critical care cots. Ground-breaking research into new children s medicines and pioneering treatments. Technology and facilities to give families and patients the best possible hospital experience. Alder Hey Children s Hospital cares for local children and families right across the UK. Alder Hey Children s Charity will fund life-saving equipment and vital research for the new hospital Alder Hey in the Park. The charity will transform the new NHS hospital into a world-class facility for children in Merseyside and from right across the UK. Alder Hey in the Park will be the best it can be, for everyone. For our clinical teams: The best operating theatre technology, critical care cots and medical scanning equipment in the world, plus ground-breaking research programmes. For families: Special parent beds with storage so mum or dad can sleep next to their child overnight, arts and crafts to encourage children s creative sides and relieve boredom, plus enhanced gardens and play areas. For young patients: Bedrooms with interactive TVs and adjustable mood lighting, plus a virtual hospital world where patients can tour Alder Hey and create their own cartoon characters. For teenage patients: Film and craft materials so teenagers can be creative and learn new skills, a treehouse area designed so patients can relax, read or play games.
