1 Mind Media Awards 2014 Be a sponsor. Help tell the real story. Monday 17 November 2014 BFI Southbank, London mind.org.uk/awards

2 We re Mind, the mental health charity for England and Wales. We re here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. We believe the most powerful way to challenge the prejudice that people with mental health problems face is to get the real story across. That s why we hold the Mind Media Awards, which recognise and celebrate the best portrayals and reporting of mental health issues across TV, radio, print and online. Be a sponsor of the Mind Media Awards. Help tell the real story about mental health. The media, in all its glorious incarnations, has enormous power to influence people s perceptions of mental health, not least in being able to challenge the stigma that sadly still surrounds it. The Mind Media Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate those actors, writers, programme makers, journalists and bloggers who are helping to dispel the myths around mental health and reduce discrimination. 4 About the Awards The Mind Media Awards are now in their twenty-first year. All our Award winners and nominees have raised awareness, promoted understanding and, most importantly, given a powerful voice to people facing mental health problems. Previous Mind Media Award winners include: ground breaking documentary The Forgotten Heroes: The Not Dead (Century Film for Channel 4) hard hitting current affairs reportage Read the Signs (BSKYB for Sky News) insightful newspaper report Prozac Nation (Independent on Sunday) hugely popular soap EastEnders (BBC One) With winners of this calibre, along with the growing media focus on mental health issues, you can see why our Awards attract so many quality entries and generate such huge interest across the media industry. Our judges include BAFTA Award-winning writers, leading journalists and editors, and TV and radio personalities. The Awards ceremony is a glittering event held at the British Film Institute on London s Southbank. It attracts a 400 strong audience that includes journalists, broadcasters, producers, writers and actors from across the media industry, as well as leaders in the mental health field. Be a sponsor of the Mind Media Awards and be part of the real story, recognising the outstanding work of those who have given a voice to people facing mental health problems. 4 Mind Media Awards Monday 17 November 2014
