1 P C Newsletter 7 th June rd Edition At this time of year we often need a call to arms if you will We have many projects and events on the go, not the least of which is our inaugural West Leeming FETE, so WE NEED YOU! This task is the project of the Fundraising Committee who are desperately understaffed. I envision the Fete to be a fantastic community event as well as a HUGE fundraiser for our school. With the money raised we can improve our resources and infrastructure, however without adequate help the event may not go ahead as planned. Please consider volunteering to help with our PC, as it enriches the experience of all our kids. MANY HAND MAKE LIGHT WORK!! 3 Technology update CYBER SAFETY Why children bully get bullied CYBER SAFETY INFORMATION EVENING Thursday 23 June 2016, 7pm Presenter: Dr Kate Hadwen PhD, M.Ed, Grad Cert School Leadership, B.Teach. Kate is passionate about the wellbeing of young people and has held a variety of positions researching and promoting resilience. Kate was formerly a Senior Research Fellow at The Child Health Promotion Centre where she was the chief investigator of the Cyber Friendly Families Project, Australia s largest intervention study focused on supporting positive parenting strategies. She advised at a state and federal level on policy development and implementation relating to cyber safety. She was awarded the Vice Chancellors Award for excellence in research, and has recently been appointed as a Fellow of the Telethon Kids Institute. Kate has taught in Junior, Middle and Senior schools in the Government, Catholic and Independent sectors in four states of Australia. She is currently Principal of Presbyterian Ladies College, Perth.
